An actual deep dive! Sounds really nice so far, although some features seem to hinge on other players- so unless they go 'That Way' FD might need to think about beefy NPCs in Solo or PG.

Let's call the leaders of the 11 poweplay grous... they've to rule it out. 
Hm. With what has been said so far, to me it sounds like things will move more towards "the power with the more players wins". Could call it a popularity contest, even. If powers will still have different rewards, then that could easily be the defining factor.
Should be interesting to watch how things will go, in any case. For now, I'd bet on the Federal powers dominating the bubble, likely within a year. I wonder if the developers will change things once stalemate sets in.

yeah, the next ship they will release after the python mkII will be the type 8

I think this is what the devs meant by monitoring the situation- they know it and want to see where the line goes....
I got the impression the more you do for your power, the better rewards you get. I assume that meant that you'll get access to other powers equipment at some point so you don't have to leave them. Might be wrong..
Then they will have to do something about that blocking feature and instancing for sure.
