Everyone'll just turn their UEC into ships. Then sell em again post wipe
You can't sell ships :)
Modules could be a way to bring credits over to the next patch.

Ahh d'oh, yep 😁

But yeah loads of other products are re-sellable right? It must be relatively simple to 'store' your UEC pre-wipe at a small loss etc? (Or just just run up such an armoury of earning-power that they cant really test the 'starter' end of the earning scale very well.)

Dunno, still seems a bit fuzzy to me 🤷‍♂️

:)

"Obviously, rental is CIG's internal name for peasant ships, not properly paid for. Long term leases."
I like the mental gymnastics there. This SCL gave Spectrum a good workout. Another highlight was Schroedinger's NPC crew (definitely possibly on the roadmap down the road).

Wait. People are actually asking for a full wipe? But why? There is so much to do in the game, apart from painfully grind to get the ships...

Wow.

nah, i want the ships. 4 accounts with enough ships to play. prison can suck it.

Here is a list

123 out of 157 in total are available in game. Which is not bad actually.

But yes. Game, where? :D
123 ships for how many systems and planets to explore visit?

Even adding systems and planets together, are we into double digits yet?

To quote my SC-passionate friend "exploration in SC exists on planets, it's just sandbox and organic"

Lol. I mean it's true to a degree, you can't deny SC planets are more interesting to a regular player than Elite, but...yeah. When you say "but I meant SPACE exploration l" they go "it's coming, we're having Pyro soon".

🤣

Some bonus stuff from the Q&A with the 3 Directors:

Interaction lag in 3.23 is due to the Replication Layer:

Rich Tyrer said:
The interaction lag itself seems to be linked to the network side of things, where kind of the network is getting throttled. It's essentially related to the RL and the server separation. So it's something that obviously we haven't experienced before in 3.22, but it's been very tricky to try and find out what is causing that problem. And one of the biggest things that we've seen that exacerbates that problem is when the server performance dips below a certain value, that's when it starts to back up.

We've had pretty much a lot of our top engineers from both the core technology group and the gameplay side looking at performance improvements that we can do to basically mitigate the interaction lag as much as possible. And I think the last EPTU or the PTU that we went to previously it was very minimal.

So interaction lag for example, people going up to doors and going 'the doors are broken', well actually no, that's just interaction lag. Your interactions being backed up from... or the elevators are not working, or I'm stuck in my cockpit seat and I can't get out. It's not because your cockpit seat's broken, it's because the interaction was being absorbed and was being queued in this giant queue trying to get through.

Keep an eye on doors, seats and elevators in live to know if the top men succeeded ;)

Long live the alpha game...

So t'other day they reckoned they'd fixed the 'fall through floor' streaming issues at the new distribution centres:

This build has many streaming changes around Distribution Centers to help stop ships and vehicles falling through and clipping the floors and ground in the area after the locations stream out and back in. With this update, Distribution Centers should stream in before vehicles allowing them to determine position correctly.

Seems there's still work to be done...

Naughty old Rastar legacies at play perhaps ;)

ppl are still falling for this 'we need to test in the PU because of scale' garbage. They've had the PTU on fire for weeks so all those bugs should be fixed in the PTU before it needs to go anywhere near the PU.

They also did multiple server meshing tests in the EPTU and they were a mess, so they should do a successful EPTU for meshing before pushing that anywhere near the PU.

All that testing in the PU will do is add yet another set of bugs on top of the ones from the PTU 🤦‍♂️

CIG is doing its darnedest best to bamboozle the community as much as possible so to normalize a crap product. The reality is quite straight forward though: The game is released, it is broken and it just sucks. SC really needs its share of game press scores and reviews as many other early access out there.

even if you grant the premise that they cant figure things out in ptu because there are not enough people (which i do not believe) they could do things to get people into the ptu if they really cared.

"Everyone who plays 10 hours in the PTU between 5/4 and 5/11 gets a free hornet (the old one, not the fancy new one) with a unique 3.23 tester skin."
