Combine this with an in-game zoo map and it'll be even betterOne update I think would be cool is an in-game zoo planner. Something quick and easy that lets you drag/drop basic elements (animal icons, shop icons, etc) into a map and filter by biome, continent, etc. and then have the ability to reference that map in game. Almost like a zoo map builder?
I mean currently I just use a pencil and paper and it’s fine but this is something I’d love.
Yes! I’m honestly very surprised they haven’t come out with this feature. A way to generate a map based on the zoo you have in game? Seems like an overlooked update.Combine this with an in-game zoo map and it'll be even better
This was in ZT2, add this feature and the guest hiding function and I would be pretty happy.Yes! I’m honestly very surprised they haven’t come out with this feature. A way to generate a map based on the zoo you have in game? Seems like an overlooked update.
Birds can perch on rocks!the most they do is just getting to a rock perch or doing a small “jump”
How do you come up with these memes
The Planet Zoo staff AI when I have 1/1000th of a rock cover the entrance door:

definitely not my shameful knowledge of key words for the meme i'm after
Also I have been really into sea birds lately, I don’t think we will get more than a possible pelican or 4th penguin. Still there is one goober I think would get me possible more excited than a duck:

Honestly after seeing them at different zoos and aquariums I think they can be doable on the penguin rig. In captivity they don’t fly almost at all, the most they do is just getting to a rock perch or doing a small “jump”. A good handful of birds can do this already in game. Mostly they seem to swim in the water or chill out.
Do I think they will happen? No. But this would be an awesome way to get another bird for Europe and our first bird for North America. For the people who do care it is also more “exotic” than the mallard duck.
Overall I want a duck more, but this would get me super hyped.
Don’t get me wrong I love ducks and they are still my #1! It’s just a puffin would be more exciting because I wouldn’t have expected it at all.

I mean, I might argue that you can just do that using in-game elements if that's what you want to do. You can just use the primitive shapes and font pieces or editable signs, different terrain pants or paths for certain sections, and so on... This is how a lot of people do it already. I'm sure there's a way to set-up a feature like this that's a value-add beyond what I'm saying but generally i think you can do this in-game if you want.Combine this with an in-game zoo map and it'll be even better
That's kinda the point of the suggestion in the 1st place, though. To make an existing in-game map, that grows and changes as you develop your zoo/farm/whatever, you need to manually make them yourself, which involves a lot of tedious and slow building for maps that will look boring and/or mediocre.I mean, I might argue that you can just do that using in-game elements if that's what you want to do. I think I outlined that pretty much on the metawishlist when it was suggested, an auto generated map is far more user friendly than the obscure primitive shape maps that often don't represent the zoo in the best way. Players can do it better with custom media but then that requires knowledge in graphic design and the dealing with the hassle of media screens. That's kinda the point of the suggestion in the 1st place, though. But if we had an option that we can toggle on and off with the click of a button, a map could pop up on screen that automatically updates as you progress. On said map, we could have option like: habitats, facilities, shops, animals. Things like that.
Basically how Zoo Tycoon 2 kinda did it
I mean, in all honesty the same could be said about many things we've gotten over the years. Souvenir shops? Petting zoos? Animal hierarchies/social structures? But that's how I feel about a lot of this stuff. They could probably shoehorn it into the current system/game. But would it be really worth the effort for them as a company at this stage?

To be sure, when I was talking about the primitive shapes and stuff I was only talking about the "planning" aspect. Where you just "paint" the terrain for different sections and throw a primitive shape down and font pieces to spell out "WILD ASIA" or whatever.I think I outlined that pretty much on the metawishlist when it was suggested, an auto generated map is far more user friendly than the obscure primitive shape maps that often don't represent the zoo in the best way. I mean, you're right, but there's certain things that feel like they would be a "bridge too far" for them. Or that just really would be better implemented with the game designed with it in mind from the ground-up. I think this is one of them. But, then again, as I'm typing this and thinking it through...I mean, in all honesty the same could be said about many things we've gotten over the years. Souvenir shops? Petting zoos? These are all things that people didn't really expect to come. Yeah, wanted, but there was a point nobody thought they'd come, much less detailed as they are. I for one didn't think we'd have guests roaming all over the habitat or free walking in a shop; I thought it would've gotten the restaurant treatment, where they walk in and just phase elsewhere.
At this point in the game's life, there isn't a whole lot that can be added that will really change the game. Quality of life and cool features? Yeah, we can get those, but they won't necessarily prolong the game much longer anyways.
My opinion is that Frontier should take advantage that the game is still popular and has no big competition right now (maybe Prehistoric Kingdom). To keep it most popular, they can add little things here and there to bring some new spice into the game, whether it's game changing or not. Heck, I used to think that the update that came with the Arid pack was lame; recolorable staff uniforms, yippee. But here I am, loving that feature, almost a year later
It's all fun and games, until they add Guest Memorial Plaques.Just a joke, but it would be great if it's added
Just make the attacks silly, like Zoo Tycoon did
