DLC18 discussion and predictions

This is pretty dead.

Last night i dreamt about PZ teaser. They show us a new type of "interactive" exhibit with a tiny gecko in it that guests could open and touch. And they teased hummingbirds for the WTE (second time i dreamt about this and it still hasn't come true). Idk what kind of pack it was but oh boy the community reaction was wild (and not in a good way lol)

Unless we get fish or something that actually fits in with kelp, i'd rather get a new tree.
We have the Archelon, though. And the plesiosaurs kinda match the kelp vibe...
I'm just hoping we don't get a Mammoth or a Smilodon. I know we have Dimetrodon, but at least it looks like a dinosaur; the other 2 just don't and would feel so outta place

Man i sure hope we get the next pack soon, so we have something new to speculate.
6 months of south america packs got pretty stale 😂
And now we can have another 6 months speculating for South America/ a World Tour pack.
Then Frontier can do something like an islands/ coastal pack. Completely unrelated to what we were expecting.

To be honest I still expect the next pack to be something we heavily requested, it may be something we haven’t requested anytime recently though.

I honestly don't think so, kelp would add a nice touch in most water exibith that no tree on land could.

Besides, sea otter would be a fire addition.

Ironically, kelp only evolved in the cenozoic, so a cenozoic pack seens even more likely now.

Apparently y'all never heard of the Loch Ness monster. I'm disappointed in y'all...
My imaginative mind always has a plesiosaur swimming through kelp in the lochs of Scotland, so it fits; scientific accuracy can leave, this is Jurassic World we're talking about😎

Weird, i always thought it was a combination of missinterpretations, selective perception and hoaxing 😂

Nope never one heard of this weird absolutely real dinosaur

I mean, Frontier has the meta wishlist. I suspect they just see which animals get bumped up (e.g., they've known the coati, tree kangaroo, and secretary bird would fall where they'd fall for a bit now--just by knowing what the other packs were going to add).

And with the last pack (justifably) deviating fully from the list? There's no way they don't hit it hard with the next pack.

Well the last one didn’t have the most substance to it, 3 species from the last game and no free update
Yeah thats what i thought aswell. Felt more like warming up than an actual dlc.
I dont play the game, so idk what the general reaction was but id have been pretty bummed out by that
That last pack was lighter than usual for JWE2. And they definitely knew it too. Which I'm sure is why they hinted at this DLC in the last livestream.

I don't play the game either, but from my peripheral view it seemed like some people were "meh" about it but a lot of the more casual players were into it. I think what helped is that the general perception was that it didn't feel like a final pack and the outsource_lqa file got updated within ~3 weeks of the DLC drop.

I'm not sure it'll be as brutal as last time, based purely on what all else is going on. There's going to be some (likely brief) breaks from the roster speculation. I expect whatever happens with this next JWE2 DLC will influence conversation here (e.g., if it's a bigger pack that looks more "final" versus being more "standard"). And similarly, if Frontier announces a new game and it's another Planet title that could cause some interesting speculation depending on what kind of title it is.

Between those two wild cards, the monthly livestreams, and focus keeping tabs on SteamDB... It may not be quite as repetitive as we're thinking! Haha.

But so much of this all depends on how soon the DLC will get released. If we get an outsource_lqa update within the next few weeks a la JWE2? There's not much time to speculate compared to what some of us are assuming (including myself haha).

The next JWE2 pack probably won’t be anything larger because they already said it’s a species pack and the shark already goes off of the dunk most likely.
