DLC18 discussion and predictions

Here's how I'd do it. If the number if birds wasn't already crazy, and we didn't also really need Monkeys I'd swap the Brown Spinder Monkey for the Nene, and the Gray Fox for the Burrowing Owl. Also maybe swap the Lori's for mixed Macaws.

Maybe it’s just because I’ve seen them a few times in a row recently, but TBH the Patagonian mara has become my most wanted non-monkey placental mammal. Look at these dudes. Crazy mixed exhibit potential, super common in many places, fills a similar niche to the ungulates Frontier loves sm but is way more unique (and imo, more interesting), and way more important for its region.

Honestly I’m shocked that more people aren’t advocating for these cuties.

Is the sad reality.

I would love the mara. They would feel incomplete without the rhea though.

But yeah all you've said is what i think as well.

I think at this point i want it more than the coati as well.

I would prefer to just get the Mara instead of both in a Collection pack, I get the Rheas important but it’s not more important than a monkey - and I don’t see us getting more than 2 SA animals in a collection pack. In a SA pack though yeah both would be ideal.

Tbh same. I would choose the mara over the rhea but i need an updated high quality rhea mod 😭

But mara would require new animations and behaviours so i rather be made officially. At core rhea is just an ostrich clone. Doesn't need much than an accurate model and a good textures to make me happy and that can be achieved through mods.

Yeah agree. I mean the rhea is definetly important to SA, but having what might very well be south americas only bird be another flavour of ostrich would be quite a bummer for me. Especially since we already have the african ostrich, australian ostrich and the jungle ostrich, while our overall bird roster is this small.

Imo the southern screamer would be a way more intersting alternative, roughly native to the same area and also commonly found in the classic SA mixed habitats in zoos

This is my wishlist for a big expansion pack based on previous DLCs + Anniversary

Cool idea for a final DLC whenever it might come (hopefully it won't be the next pack). Potential Expansion pack based on previous DLCs should focus on BIRDS, MONKEYS, along with most requested mammals and Asian deer.

South America: Coati
Australia: Echidna
Aquatic: Walrus
SE Asia: Muntjac
Africa: Grey Crowned Crane
North America: Wild Turkey
Europe: Great White Pelican
Wetlands: Roseate Spoonbill
Conservation: Golden Lion Tamarin
Twilight: Honey Badger
Grasslands: Patagonian Mara
Tropical: Spider Monkey
Arid: Hamadryas Baboon
Oceania: Huon Tree Kangaroo
Eurasia: Mandarin Duck
Barnyard: Yak

5th Anniversary: Lion-Tailed Macaque

As a final pack, I would LOVE a massive pack (so more expensive), composed of an extra specie from each pack (the "World Tour Animal Pack" ?).
I think it could be a good move from Frontier's point of view to boost the sells of all previous packs. Also, for us the players, it could give us a lot of species that we have been asking since a long time, correct some missing opportunities (Coati on Tropical, Giant Flemish Rabbit on Barnyard 😭), and it could also be a great opportunity to have a wide range of new possibilities to play again and twist our facilities built over the years in our zoos! 🥲
The concept is good expect alot of the animal choices dont quite make sense. The idea is to give people a taste of each of the other packs theme wise this is done well for some of them but others it doesnt either not being iconic enough animals or missing the vibe.

  • arctic: honestly musk ox is great for the pack maybe the walrus would be better to compliment the polar bears deep diving otherwise muskox is just as good
  • south america: a mara just doesnt match the theme well enough it both is not iconic enough as a standalone south american animal and also doesnt fit with the very tropical themed south america pack what would be better is something like a howler or spider monkey (I could also see a spectacled bear or another tapir working) though I will agree the mara would be a better overall addition it just doesnt fit the idea well enough
  • australia: I honestly have no idea why you picked that goose yes it is a waterfowl but the blackswan is right there literally on the coat of arms in some states and is much more iconic to australia. however a swam just doesnt match the more arid energy the rest of the pack does so I think the short beaked echidna would be a much better option
  • aquatic: walrus is fine I do feel a manatee would fit the theme perfectly though
  • south east asia: A musk deer fits the theme perfectly but I just dont think it is iconic enough to represent the pack a bateng, sambar or other large ungulate would be better other options could be the fishing cat or another gibbon.
  • north america: good choice no notes
  • europe: could work but I do think a weasel or pine marten would fit the vibe better
  • wetlands: good choice no notes
  • conservation: I love this choice it is perfect
  • twilight: the agouti matches the packs energy in terms of small mammal but it both isnt spooky and isnt well known for being nocturnal a possum either an american or australian one is a much better idea a mustelid like a ferret could also work.
  • grasslands: good choice no notes
  • tropical: good choice no notes
  • arid: good choice really should of been in there in the first place
  • oceania: good choice no notes
  • eurasia: good choice no notes
  • barnyard: good choice no notes

Australia Animal : Nobody understands my australian choice, and it's totally okay, it's just purely personnal, Cape Barren Goose is one of my favorite bird, I dunno why!! Love their fluo beak, like a tennis ball! I've updtated just after the list with feedbacks!
South America Animal : I don't really agree, because there is the Lama in the pack, so the tropical/jungle vibe is not a prerequisite I think. Also they are so cute and very common in zoo, I really wanted to put them somewhere!
Aquatic animal : I would LOVE Manatee, for me it's more iconic than the Walrus that is VERY rare in captivity. But I also know that this will never happen, because there is no animal in Planet Zoo that is not at least a bit terrestrial.
