DLC18 discussion and predictions

I agree a huge part of zoo is there marketing give us more of that let us make better custom sign a social media page or just something more than just marketing stars

I honestly feel it wouldn't because the "management" is already so surface level and pathetic. I am definitely not the only who sits there spamming the call keeper button because for some reason they just cant do what you want instead of calling a keeper who is going to get stuck, never arrive or cancel their action which you need to babysit as they get to where you need them to be, you simply do it your self management would still be present since you now need to balance your time as well. It would also allow for more complex exhibits such as islands or exhibits with food up high since you wouldnt be restricted by where a keeper can reach the only downside your responsible for it.
We also already have examples of this with the emergency capture and replacement feature both tasks which can be done by staff but you can also do manually for a fee.
1. A social media page is such a good idea! I imagine it would publish any of the news about the zoo. Like new habitats, births, conservation efforts, etc.
2. Being forced to keep food low for the monkeys/ birds/ apes is so annoying. If I could do it manually I would. I had an idea for a feeding platform that would bring the animals over the guests, but no, it had to be close to the ground for the keepers :/

To be honest, what I think is that Planet Zoo is going to have a heavy update with a good and impressive DLC slot. I think the new update and Downloadable Content will be worth the wait. Because, in my opinion I feel like Barnyard Pack was a filler pack with some effort put into it with a good free update with Animal encounters. Whatever frontier is doing behind the scenes took a lot of effort, time and quality like the others DLCS but this time it will be much better. So just wait, patience is key and we will have a spectacular DLC hopefully in the future.

What birds we expecting this time around everybody?
Rhea and secretary are the most likely ones imo.

Rhea because a SA revisit is one of the most likely packs and its probably among the top 5 most requested animals for that theme, also would assumably be a rather straight forward animal to make.
And the secretary because its at the very top of the meta wishlist and probably Frontiers bird of choice for a grab bag style final pack.

Im praying its Scarlet Ibis, a new waterfowl, secretary and rhea or finally a flying bird but because its frontier once again, its going to be the spectacular green peawfowl or some clone bird
Technically the Rhea is a clone animal. Plus let’s not forget that with birds frontier has actually been pretty good, the chicken, swan, and kiwi (and penguin in the same pack 🤯) were all really good additions that were either asked for or added something to the game.

Now if only we got the same luck with primates 😭

To be honest, I think they might do a Latin America Pack, but what I do think they might do is the same thing as the game Jurassic World Evolution 2 pack like maybe the Keeper Managers Pack.

Maybe with like 13 new animals for a change with all the main Wishlist animals that people have been begging for.
  • Secretary Bird [Headliner of the Pack]
  • South American Coati
  • Goodfellows Tree Kangaroo
  • Pacific/Atlantic Walrus
  • Black Howler Monkey
  • Hamadryas Baboon/Gelada
  • Shoebill
  • Golden Lion Tamarin
  • Markhor
  • Geoffrey's Spider Monkey
  • Great White Pelican
  • Jackson's Chameleon
  • Literally any bird that can fly 🙏

I mean this would take down most major bullet notes that are wanted then south america has room for more animals to be in the pack.

The main thing I’m worried about with the keeper collection pack idea (which I still think is the most likely) is with the park managers pack, they had 2 really requested animals, 1 decently requested animal, but it also had 1 that fit into the category of what people wanted, but not the exact species.

This opens the question for us, which group from the meta wishlist could frontier choose to be flexible with, for example even though the howler is in the top 5, frontier might see this as “ok so they want monkeys, let’s choose a generally popular one” which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it could just mean we get like the golden tamarin or the spider monkey instead.

Yeah its monkeys.
Obviously there are some favorites that people want the most like the howler and spider for SA, but i dont think many people would be super mad if we get a saki or woolly monkey instead. I think for most its a case of wanting the nice of big SA monkey filled with something more than wanting X species specificly
To an even bigger extent i feel this is the case for african monkeys (baboons aside), like the guereza is the most requested but i get the vibe that its kinda that the community settled on this species as a stand in for votes for african monkeys in general.
Maybe im totally wrong here, but this are the vibes im getting

I wouldn't read into the Keeper Collection picks versus what Frontier may/may not do. They just wanted to finish up JWE2 to get going on that new game. Which isn't quite what we're facing here...

As far as the monkey picks go: The Howler is the highest requested and is also probably simpler than the other two potential SA monkey picks. I'd assume we're getting that over the other two.

I mean other than the baboon I don’t think we’re getting any African monkeys anyway, but who knows they could surprise us.

We don’t know that though, JWE2 got 2 packs in 2024 then ended, we’ve only got 1 so far, so there’s a good chance the next one is the last. They could be wanting to finish up PZ as well before the new game.

This is really true and they probably might pick some animals from the tops 50s or 30s, it also depends on which one they check for as they can vary.
They might choose Susieskyz or Random goats or they might just check some youtuber Wishlist videos and roll with it. It all depends on how they do this and the method.
Like for example they probably will choose maybe Secretary Bird or Coati or walrus then maybe go a couple numbers down to get animals like in 50s range in random goats , Meta Wishlist fishing cat, civet or leopard seal then go somewhere else. It all depends on how they use the method.

If they do the same thing like Keepers then that means the game ends so that might be last resort so they probably will get a random variety animals and do like a equatorial pack/Latin America pack which both could bring more south American creatures to the roster, or they might resort to a Island Packs to get that heavily wanted Tree Kangaroo, Walrus and Aye-Aye, or they can do an equatorial or Latin America pack to feed the needs for the heavily wanted south American creatures. They may resort to equatorial because if they do equatorial, they can get the sifaka in, black buck and honey badger while also getting that sweet south American animals into the game.

Latin America Pack:
  • Black Howler Monkey [Headliner of the Pack]
  • Greater Rhea
  • American Flamingo
  • Spectacled Bear
  • Ocelot
  • Southern Tamandua
  • Scarlet Ibis
[NO EXHIBIT]
60 Ancient Maya/Inca Themed Building Pieces

Island Pack:
  • Goodfellows Tree Kangaroo [Headliner of the Pack]
  • Walrus
  • Aye-Aye
  • Southern Rock-hopper Penguin
  • Northern Sea Otter
  • Blue footed Booby
  • Kakapo/Japanese Serow
  • Blue Iguana [Exhibit]

Equatorial Pack:
  • Coquerel's Sifaka [Headliner of the Pack]
  • Bush Dog
  • Sumatran Rhinoceros
  • Honey Badger
  • Black Buck
  • Golden Lion Tamarin
  • Spider Monkey
  • Somali Elephant Shrew [EXHIBIT]
This and with the Keeper Collection Back could imo honestly bring all the main wanted animals that the meta wishlist asks for.

The problem with saki and woolly is that they dont stand out as much as Howler and Spider.
Most people prefer Howler and Spider as they are unique in the wild with Howler with its amazing animations if its made and its sound effects with spider being mostly wanted as its such a popular zoo animal compared to saki and woolly, its also unique with its tail.
