Something, something, Server Meshing slipping to Q4...

Is there any T0 which didn't arrive broken? And which won't eventually get rebuilt for server meshing anyway ;)

Maintenance gameplay loop or actually fix the box missions, your choice CIG

[Concern]

I could be a hero if we had this.

Or, and hear me out, we could get the kiosk to work correctly. Please. I just want to move boxes and instead end up being a part of some cult making monuments to the chaos god of shipping.

If you too are tired of failed box missions due to no fault of your own, please contribute to STARC-117044, link below. I'm clearly not the only one who had issues at ACMA 061 recently.

CIG Chad McKinney said:
The entire delivery mission system was re-written for 3.24, both to support the hauling missions for the cargo patch, but also to be better setup for server meshing.

Who wants a friendly bet on the outcome? ;)

I'd say mining, but they kinda broke it when they added 'mining heads' (which fall off, and blow up your ship ;))

(I guess salvaging does actually work. But I keep falling asleep whenever I observe it so can't be sure ;))

Regarding the mission re-writes there were some juicy reveals in Mike's stream yesterday from Elliot (who does the missions). ImKoaku is Elliot. They were talking about autoloading times and Elliot revealed that missions won't allow autoloading:

A bit strange to add auto-loading - but not allow it for missions.

and when asked why all the missions are broken right now he said:

So basically they are leaving the missions broken so people complain and missions get bumped up the priority so they can be worked on

Not quite the same as the post from Chad ^^^ saying it was all re-written for 3.24 :)

(They won't fix the stuff I need, so I'll keep shoving broken missions in until they do...)
It suggests a solution to the 'why do they keep shipping a broken game?' question - maybe it is multiple teams trying to get their work scheduled by keeping bugs obvious.

Dysfunctional - but more believable than the devs not realising / 'you just need a higher server frame rate'
