Elite Dangerous | Titan Indra Vulnerable & Thargoid War Changes

Thursday maintenance, when they add the CG reward, they also give Cutter reward. No need for ask every day until server maintenance.

Now, do at least 1 item in the current CG, Size 6 Corrosion resistant cargo rack for eveyrbody, a 2nd for the TOP 50%.

Looks like Indra rewards are out

Blah... Thargoids....Thargoids....Thargoids...
Maybe you would add some content/large update/dlc not related to Thargoids but e.g. expanding the depth of the game itself? I'm writing about this because the topic of Thargoid is really starting to get a bit boring....
I understand that this is some aspect of the game, but why is the whole steam going to this whistle?
You should do something that will attract new players and encourage former players to come back, without constantly mixing the same sauce in one pot.

Follow the news, maybe you'd know then that they are dropping a Powerplay rework on our heads in September (if the schedule is actually finalized by now).

Important Changes to the Thargoid war balance

Following your feedback we have implemented the following changes with the Thursday maintenance.

Thargoid War Strategy
  • Alert/Invasion
    • Titans will now directly invade populated systems, skipping the traditional probing state
      • Unpopulated systems will no longer enter an alert state
      • Several populated systems will still enter an alert state
  • Counterstrike Port AXCZs
    • Following your feedback, we are enabling an option for port Anti-Xeno Combat Zones to play an offensive role against the Thargoids:
      • In previously populated counterstrike systems, one port will reactivate and will have an AXCZ available
        • This port will have repair/rearm available, but will not offer missions
        • Planetary ports will be favored. If no suitable planetary ports are available, a space based port will reactivate instead
      • These systems can be identified on the Galaxy Map as stacked counterstrike and port under attack icons as below:

As the war continues to escalate make sure you are ready to join the fray with the Python MKII Stellar and the Alliance Chieftain AX Combat Jumpstart!

These rewards are really cool, and as a full participant they make me really happy, but as we move forwards deeper into the Titan Rewards that will be largely inaccessible to new participants, you might consider adding a secondary reward tier for players, something to get them in the door.

It should be for the top ~75% of players, to encourage them to participate at least a little. Maybe something independently hosted by the companies, not the Pilots Federation? And it needs to be accessible to newbies who are likely going to have a hard time at first. Something useful even to people who normally don't do AX stuff, but also to AX pilots.

Ooh, I know. How about a G5 Lightweight Engineered Universal Limpet Controller? Maybe via a CG hosted by Lakon to champion the T8?

Thargoid Missions are usualy available for a day, before the system/s (If only) are defeated, Instead of keeping the Thargoid missions tied to invasion only systems, (Blink and they are gone), they should be made available bubble wide, It stands to reason that all faction would do everything they can to assist in the war effort, not sure about the BGS, could be tied in, so you could do two things at once.

I want to ask a few questions and depending on the first one, I may not need the rest of the questions.
1. Do people who don't have Odyssey participate in the war with the Thargods?

All right. Uh-huh. How do they interact with the Spires?
They can't land, or target the spire, its a thin atmospheric world. Guardian weapons cant be engineered to protect against the antiguardian fiel because use revenant mats.

AXCZ in surface settlements, if no thin atmospheric planet, is valid (DCOH page show if Odyssey planet or not). Titan attacks are valid. Fighting in any system is valid.

I expect the first entry level for some player in Live horizons, but buying Odyssey to enjoy the profit and scene of thargoid spires and exobiology.

Can I please point out and could you please pass along that even with the perfected anti-guardian field modification, the non pre-engineered Guardian plasma Chargers are still never ever worth using?

Today while I was driving, I was seriously trying to figure out an alternative to azimuth gimbled axmcs for my type 10, but there really is no other option. It would be really nice to have some gimbled plasma Chargers, as those could really be nice in certain circumstances where you have wide hardpoints, like on the type 10.

Please remember that you buffed the modified variants by over 100%, and they are still only considered reasonably balanced. If you wanted to have a community goal, this would probably be a good one that could get people reasonably excited.

All right. Uh-huh. How do they interact with the Spires?
That was not your question. Interacting with the spire sites is not the only way to participate in the war with the Thargoids, but you know that anyway. If you have an agenda, just say it.

[Without Odyssey] Guardian weapons cant be engineered to protect against the antiguardian fiel because use revenant mats.

It's a bit over my pay grade, but there was discussion which indicated core chips could be got from odyssey settlements on worlds with no atmosphere.

Specifically, a settlement at Mapon 6 was mentioned and dcoh says that system is still under Thargoid control, so unless things have changed that might be worth a try for Horizons holdouts?
