DLC18 discussion and predictions

I'm not paying for the leopard, that's the main difference.
Plus, as absurd as it sounds, I like it as an alternative to Amur. It's a more generic leopard that will work better for tropical and arid climates, not just for Africa but perhaps for Asia as well.
Meanwhile the marmot... It's something I can see two hours away from my house. Not that I want to see it either cause it's not an animal that I particularly like IRL but you get the point. It's a local animal that is very easy to find here, of course I'm not really excited about it
See, i get not wanting certain animals, but listing "cons" as reason for why it shouldnt be added while listing animals that have the same cons as animals you want, and listing the same cons as perks for others is just kind hypocrisy.
Just say you dont want the marmot because you dont want it and thats okay 😄

Hamadryas Baboon occurs in Asia in a small part of its range right?
I'm leaning towards a Highland Pack but I hope its an Asian pack. With the four other animals being: Common Pheasant, Rock Hyrax, Raccoon Dog and Marco Polo Sheep. That would make me selfishly happy.

Some people think it might be a Asian pack, unlikely but I will bight, here is that concept

Pallas Cat
Hamadryas Baboon
Markhor
Blackburn
Reeves Muntjac
Yellow-Thorted Martin
Mandarin Duck
King Cobra
Not bad but without my beloved hyrax it's 0/27 😡

But if we get the hyrax I will die, and if not I will still be happy
For me, the Asian pack would look like:

Confirmed:
Palla's Cat
Markhor
Hamadrya's Baboon

Speculation:
Himalayan Monal - We have seen a repeated pattern of bird's every pack, this is quite obvious as Himalayan Monal's fit the theme and I think people will find a liking to them.
Wild Yak - An Ungulate that is very popular in that region with climbing high altitudes and would be hard as the fur will need a good job.
Reeve's Muntjac- People have been itching for a Small Ungulate, especially looking for one that fits with the Red Panda.
Himalayan Marmot - A large rodent that could be considered the "oddball" its quite a peculiar species and I think it will be a good and nice addition.

Posting in my break so I don’t have that much time. I saw a bit now and I’m quite excited. The Hamadryas baboon was long awaited, the markhor complements the ZT/ZT2 tradition and the Pallas’ cat is nice for its fans.

I’m also optimistic this is not the final pack, as some ‘leaked’ species just won’t fit (secretary, dik-dik, impala). This makes me still hope for more South America and maybe maybe maybe even a pelican. Also who knows we may get a marmot, yak and spectacled bear in this pack.

Also it looks like there may be some Nepal/Himalayas-based scenery items based on the little flags seen in the banner. Perhaps Barnyard set the new standard for packs with 7 animals and some items. If that’s the case I’m all for it!

Honestly the Spectacled Bear feels like a shoe-in for this kinda pack. If they do though I think its very likely they do the ABB later... Would be so weird to end the game with all but one bear.

I'm thinking Mountains and I think the remaining four are probably going to be the tree kangaroo, spec bear, and some kind of ungulate and a bird (most likely some type of fowl). The extra ungulate... well its an animal pack we might as well fully expect it, it could be anything but most likely options are probably yak or vicuna.

I gotta say, I know this pack is not everyone's favorite, but for me it's something that really improved my day in a much needed time

this whole thing started because I couldn't understand the hype around an animal that, to me, is basically just a recolour of something we already have a better version of.
After all this discussion, I still don't understand.
But I have nothing else to do so I'll just remain and be negative about this pack, while at the same time hoping that somehow this thing gets better... Although I can't see how.
None of the animals I really wanted fit into this pack, perhaps the tree kangaroo could vaguely count so... Yep. This is the first pack that I really consider to be unnecessary and 100% skippable, but again I got nothing to do so here I am.

Lol yeah really. Every animal has pros and cons that are incredibly similar. Especially at this stage of the game when nearly all the most popular animals are already in game.
Pretty much every animal at this stage just comes down to personal choice.
