DLC18 discussion and predictions

Ók imagine if we got an extra year of DLC, but the catch is we HAVE to have a second barnyard, what the heck would it include? Probably the cool and or weird breeds. Like imagine if we got the Damascus Goat, how many people would legit be turned away by that fella
Don't ask why I even thought of this
There are plenty of options many of which barnyard should of had without even reusuing species
easy choices
  • any domestic duck breed
  • any domestic rabbit breed
  • domestic horses
  • guinea fowl
  • a goose
  • turkey
  • domestic dog
  • domestic cat

a stretch
  • zebu
  • guar
  • yak
  • barn owl
  • honey bee
  • guinea pig
  • corn snake

I think that it might have something to do with the moon/mid fall festival but I don’t buy the Chinese zodiac theory entirely.

The obvious cold moonlight on the key art is also indicating something connected with the moon or night.
I agree the zodiac thing just some fun based on someone elses comment but the image really does give fall festival vibes.

Random question but what is yalls favorite theme category for packs? Biome/habitat based, location based or miscellaneous themes?
I’d prefer region-based packs because then I’ll either use all animals for one section or I won’t use any. I feel like it’s the most logical selection as every DLC can more or less fit one zoo section. With non-regional packs there are usually a few species I like but not all.

Theme-wise I love Arid (despite the name) and Arctic as it covers one region ánd biome. In these particular cases I’m not a fan of all the species but imagine we have packs for specific regions such as the Amazon/South American rainforest or India! Similarly, Southeast Asia was great as all animals share a biome and broader region.

but one thing that in my opinion doesn't get criticised enough is the siamang.
What the hell are u talking about- the siamang in my opinion is the best primate in the game--- the animations, the sounds, the model are OUTSTANDING (it brought brachiation), It's common in zoos, they are endangered, IT'S A PRIMATE. like ofc the Lar Gibbon is awesome too since it has a lot of gorgeous color variations but still for me the siamang was such awesome addition to the game like It's one of my fav primates in general since they r so cute and funny like the happiness I had when I saw that they r in the pack cuz I never thought they will come to the game, but yh Ithink ur opinion is defo unpopular.

I would have loved to have the siamang in Planet Zoo... If only it actually moved like one.
I'm quite literally standing in front of siamangs as I'm writing, and the one in Planet Zoo moves nothing like the ones I'm seeing. Sure the brachiation is fine, but they hardly ever do it in the game - even on the frames made specifically for them to brachiate.

At first I was very sceptical about the Lar gibbon, because I feared that it would have had all the same issues... But thankfully it walks on two legs as it should, even on climbing frames (when it isn't brachiating). Meanwhile the siamang just doesn't feel like a siamang. It feels like a weird gibbon/chimp hybrid

Eh i kinda agree with aardvark tbh. The model itself looks really nice, apart from the arm which i agree look way to muscular instead of hairy. But animation wise i think the lar gibbon is way better.
The siamang isnt bad, but i dont think its particularly great either

Barnyard 2
• Watusi Cattle
• Guinea Fowl
• Turkey
• African Dwarf Goat
• Shetland Pony
• Patagonian Mara
• Lop Rabbit
• Scenery

I wish they redid it with the gibbon animations because it looks so good it just moves weird
Yeah I may have criticised the model a bit too much... It actually just looks a bit muscular but that's not a huge deal.
Plus I gotta give credit where credit is due: the sound design. They're just as loud as the real thing lol

Yea they’re one of the best sounding animals in the game. Still add them to my zoos because of it. Literally just the movement needs to be fixed for me

But that is the problem with a LOT of the animals in PZ, mainly climbing ones- for example the Koala that the chances of seeing it climbing is lowered than get hit by a lighting- or the Amur Leopard who I saw only ONCE doing the iconic chill pose, the Binturong barely hanging on its tail and u can go on and on. So yh It's super rare to see them doing some animations tho I think Frontier did increase the brachiations of the Siamang but it might be just for me idk...

Still I think the siamang r a top tier animal like the model is so good and the fact their inflatable throat actually working when they doing vocalizations is SO good, so yh they are not perfect but idt any animal in PZ is perfect, maybe just the African Crested Porcupine cuz they just r.

Probably biome, but I wasn’t opposed to the continent themed packs at the beginning. Biomes just offer the most diversity we could get in one pack. Though at this state in the game, if we got say an Amazon pack over a Rainforest pack I wouldn’t mind.

Now say we one day get a pack based on birds? Then I wouldn’t mind miscellaneous themes. I will say after the aquatic pack it’s funny they never made a pack based around movement/ new features since.
