DLC18 discussion and predictions

If we are getting a mountain pack, what are the chances that we get Alpine marmot? It’s basically a larger prairie dog making it easier for the devs to create.
Not bad. If it's highlands I personally don't care what's in it as long as we get the spectacled bear and a bird, preferably the golden pheasant but the monal is cool, too.

My only gripe is that if we get the spectacled bear, the ABB might never come

Well according to zootierliste the leopard seal & arctic hare have no holdings at the moment, muskox have 40 and walrus have 37. So I wouldn't put them in the same category tbh.
Hares are kinda confusing since there are a few species who all look pretty much the same and have very similar names.
There is arctic hare who dont have any holdings, mountain hare who have 20ish, snowshoe hare who have 4 and probably more. And the fact that alot of these also go by different common names, some of which are even used for multiple species just makes it even more confusing.

So there definetly are hares that could fit a polar pack that have a captive pressence, even if its a pretty small one. But tbh i think thats okay since i think it would just be cool to have a hare in the game, as thats probably the most recognizeable group of mammals without any representative in the game

Being 56th place on the 2024 metawishlist, it's got a decent chance. It seems decently similar to the Prairie dog, so quite doable.

It seems the highest rated left for Europe, apart from Great White Pelican, so for Old World it's probably got a decent chance too.

I know it's probably not relevant to this pack but I feel like we don't talk about lorises enough. Imo it's more important to have than the sifaka. We already have three lemurs. Any loris is a zoo staple for me and no nocturnal house feels complete without them. They're one of my favourites to find because you usually have to peer for a long while to spot them, and when you do its so rewarding. Their movements are so funny. I have a childhood friend who I enjoyed watching them with at Shepreth once and ever since we sometimes do this freaky loris crawl movement handshake thing and it cracks us up every time. 20 year old jokes are the best jokes amiright?

Plus zoos are essential for their conservation. London Zoo labels them as an EDGE species: Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered. I was so surprised they didn't come with the Twilight Pack and I've since been hoping for a nocturnal follow up, but that seems unlikely now. So I hope they do get a slot in the fabled Zookeeper Collection or whatever pack, if and when it comes.

And that’s if you even think great white pelicans are European in the first place. GWPs range mainly consists of Africa and Asia. Their European range is pretty minuscule.
