I bet when PZ started they had no idea it was going to be so popular, nor how many hyperfixated animal nuts are out here

I bet the plans for PZ2 are based on a much better sense of the demographic now. And we want things! Allll the things.
I'm sure they expected it to be a success. But I don't think they counted on us wanting to be so detailed about our creations, want the relatively "niche" animals that we're clamoring for, and they certainly didn't anticipate that we'd want to build indoors the way that we do!
And you can see/feel their response to this over the years. The Aquatic pack and SEA animal pack are where that really shows through. The first three packs felt pretty "cartoony" and almost "theme parky." Aquatic rolled around and that was the first time I remember thinking: "Oh! There's a lot of pieces that fit the theme but can also be used for something very general!"
So I wouldn't be surprised if they'd consider all of this in developing a sequel. It's obvious that's what they did for PlanCo2!
I was hoping for news after my block, I guess the day isn’t over yet.
To be fair, I am actually expecting some sort of news either next week or by this Friday.
Yeah, I'm not expecting anything until later this week unfortunately. About the DLC anyway. I'm a little surprised they haven't posted
anything thus far today... I'll be bummed if they don't at least dig into the Anniversary Update on the socials this week!
Also while I am waiting for the news, is anyone else not playing the game much? I’ve mentioned this before but I made an Amazon indoor rainforest for Capybaras and Capuchin monkeys (not the best species but I don’t have any others) and part of me is hoping for, something. So I’m just waiting to see what I can get. Likewise, if I get nothing it’s also kind of putting me off from continuing that building.
I don’t know if anyone else is going through this?
I'm in a good spot with my current project. But, given what I've got going on in life I haven't been able to play more than 30-45 minutes on any given day for the most part. And it's been that way for months. Haha.
Interestingly, I had a trip to Australia this summer that was
really inspiring and caused me to shift all of my plans. And seeing the species that we're getting thus far (specifically, the markhor) led to a further shift and an additional idea. So I'm not playing much but it's certainly not for lack of inspiration!
Edinburgh have what amounts to a walk through sloth exhibit as well. Elevated paths but if they chose to they could get close to interact. I just doubt they ever would!
I've been to a few "walk-through" sloth habitats and they're usually designed so that the sloths don't want to go anywhere near the guests, anyway. They're also typically in spaces with free-roaming monkeys so there's usually a zoo staff supervisor there, anyway.
