DLC18 discussion and predictions

I’m choosing not to look into it to much, I remember pre barnyard how they haven’t posted anything in over a week. Then they posted something pretty basic.
Eh. There's usually a thought process with companies as to when they post on socials, gaps between posting, etc. So it probably means something. But that "something" could be anything and not necessarily them waiting to share the trailer. Haha.

I'm mostly just focused on that right now because it's something I find interesting in general, not so much just with Frontier.

Ooh boy so many unread pages, we got some news surely

Watch as they torture us to the max
They suggested the leopard will be out before the anniversary as they want that time spot to be for Pc2 release. They release the leopard and dlc the day before !
Do you think they like tormenting us or they have some grand plan?

I think the latest we've gotten ever gotten a reveal has been 25 minutes from now - 9am US Central Time, so if we don't have one by then I think we just gotta wait for tomorrow.

Yeah I hear you, social media and marketing is an interesting part of business. It could definitely mean something, considering they did recently tell us to watch the socials.

Part of me hopes they slowly begin to drip feed us. Like release a new animal or groups of animals every day or two.

They said in the livestream that the anniversary is being celebrated early because of the upcoming DLC pack. There's been no direct word of PC2's release having any effect on PZ's scheduling.
No, they didn't say it directly, but you can read between the lines... The anniversary of Planet Zoo is Tuesday, November 5th. They usually release DLCs on a Tuesday. If the DLC is going to be ready weeks before the anniversary date if they really wanted to they could release the DLC on that day.

But they aren't doing that because it's the same week as Planet Coaster 2 and that could potentially (a) cannibalize sales, and (b) would put some pretty major content creators in a pinch.

As a company they won't ever admit that but it's 100% why they are doing it this way.

Honestly, that's partially what I was expecting them to do! I had mentioned it before but I was banking on this week being like... A day of them showing off the hats, another screenshot of the leopard, a shot of some monkeys eating jellycake, and maybe a forum post with the update details. And so on.

It just feels so odd to have that big reveal then wait 4+ days before saying something else about it.

But it's about the continent. When I learned that Australia is the continent, then NZ is in Australia. NZ is not its own continent and it doesn't belong to Asia either. That's what I was getting at, Australia can be both, the country and the continent.
Maybe he actually meant it that way, maybe not. In any case, it is not entirely wrong.
I also only learned here that the whole thing is called Oceania. I was very confused when I read it on the map or under the animals.
Yeah I meant as the other term for Oceania (Austrailia)

Unfortunately also very on brand for Frontier.

Guess I'm outta the meme game because I can't upload any media for some reason 😅
Yeah, I couldn't upload any media from one of my computer for more than a week now but I still can from my other pc. Really weird
Okay (not) good to see that I’m not the only one, I thought I was going crazy or something. It’s been like this on both mobile and PC for a week or two now.

I need my silly memes and reaction images, how else am I supposed to show the sheer pain I feel every time someone calls the kiwi Australian :< Through words? Phhhttt, nah, that’s ridiculous.

All the aquatic pack choices were not the most obvious ones. The African or Humboldt penguin, California sea lion, Asian small clawed otter and spectacled caiman or American alligator would have made more sense, unless Frontier was saving them on purpose for later packs.
I would argue that the King penguin is more iconic - simply because of Edinburgh - and that meant it was the logical choice. Also, the caiman is certainly more obvious than the alligator outside the US and addressed South American diversity (which 2 other animals did). Either way, it’s apparent they reused the new rigs very quickly after!

Can we all just agree to do some research on google and go back to talking about animals?
" New Zealand is not part of the continent of Australia, but of the separate, submerged continent of Zealandia.[45] New Zealand and Australia are both part of the Oceanian sub-region known as Australasia, with New Guinea being in Melanesia."

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austr...and is not part,New Guinea being in Melanesia.

So yes, Calling NZ as part of the continent Australia is indeed wrong.

As per US / non-US animals: The black bear isn't needed more or less than the european brown bear. I'd take both, part of it because Frontier is way better with models at this point. None of the mentioned is really "needed" in my opinion.
