DLC18 discussion and predictions

Yeah that's one of my issues with those games, along with the building being too basic for my taste. So with both of those issues, I just find the games incredibly boring, both for playing and for watching. I put almost 300 hours into the first game, but I could not bring myself to come back to it (maybe if I wanted to get the last three achievements)
Yeah thats the main reason why those games just look rather boring to me. Just plopping down facilities without the ability to build your own stuff isnt really what im after.
Apart from that i just dont like the animals, i love prehistoric animals with emphasis on animals, not movie monsters.

That why imo prehistoric kingdom is the superior game in pretty much every way.

1. Bat-eared Fox
2. Striped Hyena
3. Masai Giraffe
4. North American Elk
Striped Hyena was one of my wanted animals. I was so happy and surprised to see them in game!

But yeah, for smaller species I'd be okay with exhibit boxes, with those caveats that they are much more manipulable and you can mix species together.
That and mice, tree shrews, rats, elephant shrews, tenrecs etc...

Yeah we probably are at the earliest, not sure why everyone thinks we're getting anything before Friday
Blind optimism? Haha. That's what it is for me, anyway... That and most of my time online is spent on touring discourse in the punk/hardcore community and in that world, like 95% of tour announcements happen between Monday and Wednesday. So I have a natural bias in my assumptions about announcements earlier in the week. :ROFLMAO:

But as for Friday: Learning that it's not only World Animal Day but also National Zookeeper Day.... Yeah, I think the announcement is definitely Friday. Haha. And it's low-key keeping my hope alive that we're looking at a general "collection" pack. The flip of that coin is that Earth Day doesn't have much to do with Barnyard pack despite that announcement post hah.

The only premade habitat game I liked was World of Zoo which is arguably a completely different type of game. Its more long the lines of Nintendogs. I think any game that is focused on building a zoo or whatever should allow customization of layout, shape, etc.

Ha ha, blast from the past. The Wii version was the best one

Customising the animals was certainly the best part of the demo, I never played the full game.

Yeah we are 100% getting a PZ post on Friday, but I'm still not certain we will get anything dlc related, at best something to do with the anniversary, but I hope I'm wrong

A lovely addition to any update that doesnt get talked about is adding new animations and behaviors made for newer animals to older fitting ones.
A good example would be the leopards and fossas relaxed animation for resting in trees with a paw hanging, which surely could be retro fitted for the other cats/cat like animals in the game like the jaguar, tiger and lynx instead or even better as an option along side the more tense and akward looking animation they currently have where they keep all 4 limbs and even the tail on a log.
Another example would be adding diving to the monitor or my personal favorite replacing all of the zebras generic animations with the newer equine ones the prez horse and donkeys use.
Those might be small changes for the most part, but it would be a nice way to keep animals more up to date and less left in the dust.

And adding enrichment to older animals. How many cats and primates and other bears would love the hammock?!
Sim Animals Africa for DS was a game I spent hours on! Never heard of Jambo Safari... Thanks, I'm going to look it up!
I'm going to look up Zoo Hospital and Wild Earth Africa too! Too bad I don't have wii... :( I have switch. I'll have to see if there are any Switch equivalents OR borrow my sister's wii.
Jambo Safari is a game where you are a rookie ranger and you have to watch over some wildlife parks. You drive around in your offroad vehicle (Jeeps, y'all! And customizable). You do missions to unlock new parks and/or save animals or help people, and you can also catch animals to treat them in the vet...

Guess imma buy a new Wii

I mean, I think we'll get a PZ post before Friday. Them going a full week between posts is super rare. I'm still shocked they haven't used this week to share more shots of the update. It's feeling like they've just killed any and all momentum that they built up so far as the socials are concerned...

Remember when people said there was no chance the DLC would be coming as late as October because it was "too long" and people would have lost interest in the game at that point? :ROFLMAO:
