Yeah, silence on world zookeeper day is a massive missed social media opportunity. At this point I doubt anyone at Frontier reads the forums or they would really have picked up on that.

And on the other hand you have EA as the crappiest company ever that publicly schedules teaser trailers, publishes laundry lists for patches etc.
I can't excuse Frontiers lack in customer Engagement anymore, honestly

Knowing they were going to follow it up with a week+ of silence, it would have been far better to tease the Leopard during the livestream and hint at a DLC coming soon, and stay tuned next week(this week). Then post the art sometime during this week.

We can all definitely be dramatic, and yes we were also never promised any news. We hyped ourselves up and convinced ourselves that today would be perfect. Well look what happened!

Still, Frontier not saying anything for their zoo game on ANIMAL DAY AND ZOOKEEPER DAY is absolutely insane. Likewise, hyping us up saying to “stay tuned” in the “upcoming weeks” is generic HR speak, but they should have gave us an actual date. Otherwise saying something is coming and then just going back to being quiet is super annoying.

Meh, modders make good things but not better than the devs. This pack of communication isn't unusual and has always been like this. I'm just glad we got this far when the game could've easily ended years ago

Communication is a problem. The quality of animal model is another problem. There are at least one bad animal model in each pack. I don't think it is acceptable.

Lol just imagine if Frontier Unlocked misspoke with a common grammatical error and by "couple of weeks", they meant "several". This is a serious possibility; I wouldn't rule out the possibility the pack isn't revealed until the October Livestream and maybe it will release after PC2, with only 2 DLCs for the year. The pack theme is pretty cold-centric to me.

Like others have said, the DLCs go on sale regularly. That's how I bought the last 3-4 packs even though I wasn't excited about any of em. If you buy a $10 DLC at a $6 price, then you are getting a deal even if 1 of the models ain't great.

While one slip up is feasible, it would really be 3.

The releasing before the typical anniversary and the post saying coming soon would all have been slip ups. One is possible. Three is nearly impossible.

I think the thought may have been that we'd be hungry for news considering how long it's been (accurate) and that we'd just be happy with those screenshots until they were ready to reveal what exactly the DLC was (inaccurate).

I just don't think they realized they were opening the flood gates a little too soon...

But then again, from Frontier's perspective, does it really matter? Some folks are annoyed. But they're all going to buy the DLC anyway. And the second the news does drop all will be forgiven. So I can see how they may not be so incentivized regardless of how odd it seems.

For real! As a Planet Zoo player? I'm fine. Whatever. I can wait. But as a person with a degree in marketing... I'm confused and frustrated. Haha. They clearly weren't thinking strategically on this one. But, like I wrote above: Maybe it doesn't matter because of how feverish the playerbase is.

They've said it a few times now during their annual presentations that the ROI on PDLC for this game is consistent/predictable...

It's very weird. But a bunch of people being "annoyed" who are going to buy the pack anyway and chill out the second news does drop... I dunno. Why should they care about that? They really don't have to, TBH.

Doesn't make it feel any better or less strange but... The logic tracks.
