For real! As a Planet Zoo player? I'm fine. Whatever. I can wait. But as a person with a degree in marketing... I'm confused and frustrated. Haha. They clearly weren't thinking strategically on this one. But, like I wrote above: Maybe it doesn't matter because of how feverish the playerbase is.

They've said it a few times now during their annual presentations that the ROI on PDLC for this game is consistent/predictable...

It's very weird. But a bunch of people being "annoyed" who are going to buy the pack anyway and chill out the second news does drop... I dunno. Why should they care about that? They really don't have to, TBH.

Doesn't make it feel any better or less strange but... The logic tracks.

Trust me once I get news I’ll definitely forget the long wait. But if Frontier wants to give me a whistling duck I will also personally run the social media accounts for them, for free!

Ok, my guess is by "couple of weeks" they meant several. Game/free update will release just before the October Livestream (they will use the livestream to promote it), so on the 29th which is just before the anniversary. Which means potentially no trailer until the October 17-22 period. We have (at least) 2 more weeks to wait approximately...

Ok yeah, I agree. But in general, I meant that most of the time the official animals are better. The Barnyard was mixed

My point is, if you see how a product looks before you buy it, why buy it and then complain? That's what I see everywhere. It's like buying a poorly made meal, seeing it looks bad, eating it, then complaining about it.
You said so yourself: there's a bad animal each pack. Yet you bought them anyway. Why are you complaining for something you did when the provider already showed you what it was like?

Your logic is wrong. I like the game but dosen't mean I can't complain. I complain it as I want it to be better. Now, I lose my patient, so I won't spend money on it any more.

I never said not to complain. That's fine. What I'm saying is that if you complain about how something turned AFTER you knew what it looked like, then that's the problem.
I have my own criticisms for the game, but I also knew what I was getting beforehand, so if I complained about that knowing full well what I got, then I have no right for that.
It's one thing if a mistake isn't showcased and only know after a product is bought. It's another when you see it and buy it anyway and then get mad

PZ is paying for the mistakes Frontier made regarding their other games. They used the PZ profits (instead of reinvesting in their core franchises) to support the development of other games, hoping to become established in other genres. These all failed (making huge losses), they announced budget cuts and PZ wasn't spared.

Now they are making three new CMS games and PZ is the first on the chopping board, support is manned by a skeleton crew who have to port everything to console (to make more profits) as well as churn out more DLCs (to keep that source of profits going). Invariably quality of animals WILL suffer. We will NOT get animal quality on par with what we saw in 2023 again, the Pallas Cat for example looked dreadful. We are back to 2021 animal quality unfortunately.

You think the performance of frontier and pz are acceptable but I don’t think so anymore. We have different criteria. To make conclusion, My money my choice.

Barnyard's only real issues were the Highland cow and the donkey's sounds. The sheep is in the running for the single best animal Frontier has ever done.

I'm sure most people who are not familiar with animals and zoos haven't really heard of pygmy hippos before, I didn't even know they were a thing until the after the deluxe version was out

I think the reason is very simple. That pygmy hippopotamus is currently very topical on the Internet. I think they want to ride on the popularity. Just like one day the pandas sent to the UK by our country started performing Chinese Kung Fu in front of tourists. This must be breaking news! If PZ still exists at that time, I think they will definitely do something.LOL
