This is how I feel about the Cobra Mk IV discussion in this thread:
It's a perpetual deal only offered to those who got it at the time. I missed out on it too. It's ok. It's just a casual game, remember?

Speaking as a Cobra Mk IV owner, the Mk IV is more like the Python of small ships. It's okay at a number of tasks, but doesn't really excel at any of them, possibly except cargo space of which it has the most of any small ship.
Thank you for this information, which I will endeavour to use to amend my hearsay opinion of the ship.
There are lots of exclusive skins, these Anniversary ones are just another of those & imo not that special. I have plenty of exclusive skins that others don't have, and others have skins I don't have & covet (white wireframe Cobra MkIII for example).
One of the things that saddens me about the Cobra MkIV discussions is that FDev have apparently been discouraged from offering any other exclusive ships. I think offering an exclusive ship for ordering Horizons before the cut-off date was an effective marketing strategy at the time, and am disappointed that it was such a mediocre spec (as I was with the Asp Scout too, imo all they needed to be was similarly as fast as the existing versions they were based on) especially before engineering. The exclusive suit skins that came with the Odyssey pre-order were pretty forgettable imo.
I see plenty of 'never to be repeated' offers in life, I don't think that was FDevs mistake. That there was only that one ship one was.
That could still change.

What they are doing now is pretty good. The Type 8 has enough of an advantage to get folks opening their wallets, but it's a timed exclusive so any ill feeling is not going to fester like an open sore

re: The Cobra MkIV being exclusive ... that argument ended when Frontier announced that Planet Zoo console owners can buy the pre-order "exclusive" bonus pack as a dlc. Frontier can't now be trusted to keep anything exclusive and anything they have that is exclusive no longer has the argument of not being available later. In short, just let everyone buy the Cobra MkIV already.
re: the Ruby Anniversary paintjobs ... yes, I understand that whole limited time idea, but it's a 40th anniversary YEAR. There's no reason why they can't be available for a whole year, this would give people time to get more, and has been said, taking them off of sale just results in loss of revenue.

And yeah I would like to buy the overpriced Paintjobs ( in my opinion) but obviously Fdev forgot to tick a box for the legacy players

It wouldn't have been either way. The ruby paintjobs were always set to end today, the original release of the Mandalay would have been tomorrow. Pity, I would have considered it. Either way, Stygian Red is nice too, and chrome should be back soon.
