PP2.0 Weekly Task Cannot Be Completed

Look at this stupid task. You literally cannot complete it because you cannot deliver Reinforcement Supplies to the same system. They want me to take Archer's Field Supplies from Decima, which I am in, and deliver it to Decima, which I am in. Doesn't work.

I wish I had one of those, would be fun to see if I could make it complete :(

Though I suppose I can try and complete my two Odyssey-only missions ... in my Horizons commando :D

So I had a mission like that. I just found a nearby system to hand them in to.

It doesn't complete the weekly mission, but it does get rid of them from your cargo hold.

Here's one of the weekly tasks:

It says I need to collect escape pods in an acquisition system.

Problem is, there are no systems labelled as "acquisition" on the galmap. The closest thing you can find there is called "expansion".
OK, so I jumped to this system:

Is it an "acquisition" system? Should be, as far as I can tell. It's not called as such, but neither is anything else on the galmap.
Anyway, I collected 9 occupied and 2 damaged escape pods there.

The description of the task says I need to deliver them to a fortified or stronghold system within range of the source system.
What range? Could you not be more specific, fdev?

Anyway, there were 2 stronghold systems nearby, so first I picked the one with the stronghold carrier.
Sold one escape pod to the power contact on the carrier - no merits, no task progression. Maybe the system is too far?

Who knows, so I jumped over to the other stronghold system, the one without a stronghold carrier. This one was only 30.32 Lys from the source system, so I guessed it was close enough to qualify as "within range". Sold the pods to the power contact in the station, to no avail. No merits, no task progress.

So what's the problem here?
Is an "expansion" system not the same thing as "acquisition"? If so, why are there no systems labelled as "acquisition" on the galmap?
Is a system 30.32 Lys from the source system out of range? If so, why is there no mention in the mission description of what exactly the term "within range" is supposed to mean?
Is there a bug here? Well I would not be surprised tbh.

We shouldn't need to complete weekly tasks to rank up. I have over 2000 merits and I'm stuck at rank 0 because I don't want to scoop up escape pods or waste a slot on limpet controllers.

As far as I understood from this guide on Youtube (thanks to @Buur for mentioning that guide) the first couple of states are summarized as acquisition systems (expansion, contested, unoccupied as well if your "power started to gain control").

Regarding the range I would assume that these could be the systems shown within the sphere when activating "tactical mode" (was it called like that? Not remembering ...)?

I could be wrong, though ... perhaps just give it a try?

If I got it right, then you only need to do it once, not every week. I guess these tasks might also be changing each week - if that's correct, then just play as you have fun, then complete them in a week when they look ok for you?

Yeah that was what I thought, still I did not get any merits.
Probably it's another bug then.

Nice, thanks.

So you mean it's possible that the system in the screenshot below would not have been marked as "acquiring" in the second powerplay tab?

Entirely possible, yes. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, it took me ages to realise the second tab was there too, and yet it will be the one you probably use more often.

Yes, it is a sublte UX inconsistency bug some people noted but not reported properly, nobody opens a bug entry and it will remain like this forever.
