FDEV please have the courtesy to contact the player base by other means besides twitter in regards to suspension or nerfing of gameplay. Yesterday, you folks decided
to suspend merits on rare goods while I was in-game and collecting, grinding so I can unlock modules and I did not receive a message that you were taking this measure.
The only way I found out that merits for rares were suspended was due to my search to see if this was a bug.

A friendly in-game mail telling the players that this was going to occur and the time it was going to happen would of been the courteous thing to do. I traded 2160 tons of rares which would've given me 78588 merits and some more ranks for my favorite modules. Sure, I gained some credits(profits) but since I have over 54 billion and don't need credits the time and effort I put in yesterday was futile.

I am a C.E.O. of a software company, and I love to play Elite it's my only vice. One thing I learned in running a company and trying to grow is not to turn off the current clients I have so that they negatively rate my products or services which will have a negative impact on my growth. NERFING is not content. Suspending gameplay and changing your minds every other day, on aspects of this new powerplay system is turning off the players. Make up your minds, make the change and stick with it. And recompense those who have been hurt by this new suspension.

good question, I've had issues where I delivered PP goods to outposts and I did not receive any merits. At first I thought it was my own doing or the station on my second attempt, but after my third attempt I realized something was up.

Fdev always underestimate elite cmdrs ability to circumvent their planning. This huge PP2.0 grindwall which on paper looks like months of grind. And yet 100s if not 1000s of cmdrs have reached lvl 100 or more in a matter of days.
Personally I too grind alot. I'm not adverse to it, comes with the territory with elite. But I'm not very good at it. I get side tracked, bored 😴, then refocus and continue.
What amazes me is even though PP2.0 is a grindwall intentionally, fdev must've known it would not be an issue to those dedicated to Zerging it? Others able to take advantage of the 'egg'.
So why on earth is a grindwall the only approach?
Surely there is a better way? I'm not suggesting anything I'm not that smart. But coding a huge add on to elite and taking the grind approach seems futile to me.

actually I think PP 2.0 and modules unlock system should've been 2 separate systems. This could've been solved through CRAFTING those goodies not GRINDING for them. It would left the BGS alone and PP 2.0 could've given different rewards, better in terms of gameplay, like a discount for purchase of your next ship in ARX store, or a free ship, or modules.

Getting back to Op

Surely they have all our email addresses as part of our login.
So why not use that assuming there's no legal issues, to spam us all with ingame updates pertinant to any given ongoing situation like PP2.0?

he say powerplay should pay other things than special module, so people can have it without complain about grind.

but, why the "other things" to unlock should no be complained? the fact isnt the powerplay offer the special modulo the problem, but the fact people want rank 100 in a couple of hours, doesnt care about wich is the prize and the real utility of it.

if the prize for rank 100 was a simple ship decal, everybody start to rush to have that decal in the less time possible, and , if fdev nerf something, we have plenty of post about the time grinding to have that decal.

i follow and love the game, when they announce that fact, 16 minutes later i see the notification on my smartphone about a new post from elite dangerous on facebook that explain the situation, im pretty sure they do the same on X.

i simply "follow" on social media and i use notification

Probably not even the low end of that, in fact.

Looking at the leaderboards for Kaine, in the first two weeks:
- 3 CMDRs reached rank 100
- 1 more reached rank 99 (almost!)
- 1 more reached rank 67 so might be there by now.
- no-one else anywhere near
That's five.

Inara estimates (wrong, but probably not that far off when considering super-active players likely to approach rank 100) that Kaine has about 6% of total Powerplay pledges (after excluding "no pledge", obviously).

So ... that would suggest about 80 players, total, have reached rank 100 so far.

As do i, using this very forum. But if ingame at the time something is suspended it's unlikely you'll see it till its too late and you've handed in 3000 rares, but their blocked because of what's happening in real time.
Perhaps not an email, perhaps a popup text ingame like server down in 10 mins or something?

of course an in game text should be enough, but, its just a rares haul, cmon.
they understimate that action, it is correct to say at fdev "hey, next time write something directly in game" but thats all, isnt something that happen every 3 days.

And what does complaining about the grind, a forum staple, have to do with being “carebears”?

Not everyone is on Socials, not everyone wants to follow Frontier on their socials. 🤷‍♂️

Think the main argument about PP2.0 is that it was designed with open only in mind, in my opinion, that it's undermine, reinforcement mechanics have no offset in solo/pg, upsets the applecart resulting in overall chaos across the powers. With no real way of stopping those who choose to do it in total unaccountable/unopposable safety.

so, no discord, no friends, no community. no squadron etc.
we understand they fail to not wrote nothing in game, i think also fdev have noticed to have make a bad choice to not send an in game message, but thats all.
do you haul again cmon that thing happen one time in a decade.

That might be the case, but the discussion here is about rares suddenly not giving merits. It’s not a “sweaty vs care bear” discussion at all, so doesn’t really warrant coming in throwing insults.

For all we know the OP could have be unloading in Open.
