That might be the case, but the discussion here is about rares suddenly not giving merits. It’s not a “sweaty vs care bear” discussion at all, so doesn’t really warrant coming in throwing insults.

For all we know the OP could have be unloading in Open.
they stop it FOR A WHILE.
not forever, just chill, they coming back. maybe with less merit.
theres plenty of post about "OMG HOW CAN I REACH RANK 100 IN MY 2 DAYS OFF oh damn i have a life etc"

My friend, I’m far more chilled than you seem to be!
im really ok, i see your intention to claim me as an insulter and i am not.
"carebear playerbase" is part of elite dangerous culture. that kind of player are the one who mixmax every aspect of pve\farm and grind. im not assuming any of you are.

I’ve seen more complaints about the grind to get the PP modules from those citing the need for them in PvP rather than PvE. 🤷‍♂️

Literally nothing. I've never seen a PvPer in my life who did not hate having to grind with a passion.

Yip. I tend towards being a resident of Care-a-Lot Castle these days, purely because I don’t have the time to git-gud anymore.

But I often see, across games, PvPers complain about having to actually play the game loops the devs have made.

Fighting other players is more rewarding than NPCs - and I also enjoy the risk from being in Open - but sometimes you do actually need to play the game too!

Anyway, we’re wandering off topic…

There are a few things that are part of this game's "culture" for some, that doesn't make them right or acceptable. You only used the term in a derogatory manner which, as you well know, is not something that's acceptable on the official forums.

Moreover, there was absolutely zero reason to mention it as it wasn't even relevant to the conversation. So, stop with insulting how others choose to play the game.

of course is, PvP meta build is acquiried trough PvE they are the ones that play only for minmax stuff and i am referred to they. hope it sound better.
in terms of gameplay, in fact, there no a single powerplay module that can give you a really big advantage against npc

Having to play PvE game loops has never been the problem. Grind walls huge enough to be capable of keeping the White Walkers outside are.

its ok, im sorry, doesnt mind that was an insult, for me it is just a term to describe a type of gameplay attitude.

I'd disagree that PP2.0 modules/weps don't give an advantage. I'd sooner have pacifiers than frag cannons any day.
I'm a good railer especially in a fer de Lance. So imp hammers also to me are an advantage because all 3 hits = more dps.
Prismatics are a meta in pvp that's well known, over their counterparts.
Grom bombs able to disable fsd is a huge advantage.
And let's not forget the Dogs!
Packhounds are not only fun to fire! But pack a punch too. Personally I prefer seekers because they don't generate too much heat, and crucially don't need weps distro. But packhounds are just gorgeous 😍 eye candy 🍬.
If cytoscramblers were gimballed, and came in bigger sizes, we'd all be using em.
Yes there's a trade off with most PP2.0 modules/weps, as regards heat, power consumption etc. But on the whole we strive to get them because their better.

This is Elite Dangerous, it’s all about the grind!

I’m intentionally avoiding PP atm while they work out the kinks. I’m hoping it’s not too much of a grind when it settles in a bit. - but I am an eternal optimist 😂

I'm lucky I already have most of the PP modules/weps I want. So I'm not doing it for that reason. I'm doing it because I think it has potential for endgame content that doesn't end. It's a way of playing a game with all your assets bought to bear. Your engineered ships, your fc, your time, your knowledge.

@Kira Mikamy
I get it truly. I'm a pvper too, not a very good one in elite because twin sticks don't compete with kbm. But I enjoy twin sticks VR combo.
It's all about immersion.
PP2.0 as I've said many times was designed from the ground up for open only. And because they changed it to appeal to a wider audience, it's all gone south.
But I will not use derogatory terminology to put down anyone in this forum cos it goes against terms & conditions.
We all have our way of playing elite. And must respect others with their ways. It's that simple.
