DLC 19 Speculation

Nope. If there was, this thread would be far more active! ;)

I wouldn't anticipate us seeing or hearing anything solid until at least February. (And even then, I doubt it would be anything said by Frontier and just us noticing SteamDB activity.)
I’m guessing we will start to get things ramping up around April 😬

I think we may see a ramp up before then... The time elapsed between the Eurasia pack and Barnyard was ~4.25 months (December 13th through April 30th). And the time between Barnyard and the Zookeeper pack was ~5.5 months (April 30th through October 15th).

So the next Planet Zoo pack could reasonably see a release in late March or first week of April (~5.5 months from October 15th). This would put it ahead of the usual "Easter release" but there's a solid chance the PC2 DLC might take up that slot this year, anyway...

Which is why I'm expecting things to start "ramping up" in maybe February as far as SteamDB activity goes. Of course, it could also be later. But I'm basing this on what we know about the release schedule/time between DLC releases last year.

i would argue it's a problem for the first three years though, if you only buy the dlcs from arctic to Wetlands you still doesn't have anything to put on the WE, for example plus lack of a horse, so put conservation and twilight together and we have a agreement.

It's argubly different because ZT2 had 4 dlcs with the second half being the "fries" of the burguer analogy, while the first two were expansion pack that put together what in PZ would be 3-4 dlcs each. through it's not my point to say "ZT2 expansion pack good, PZ dlc bad", as the meme isn't made by me and i couldn't remove the "then and now", i'm simply anshwering your question of why some people feel like the game has too many dlc.

It's not, the point is that the base game of PZ is lacking and you need to spend more to have the bare minimum or to use whole mechanics.

Edit and note: i don't have any problem with the DLC model after Grasslands, i think the tactic of putting the WE visible for everyone with the base game is scummy, but aside from it i believe there's nothing wrong with it, the point is why so many people think this game has to many dlcs, and i can understand them by seeing a 100 R$ game going to 600 R$, though and to be fair is still no the sims 4.

I couldn't agree more, and that's for sure why I wouldn't buy a PZ2 before the end of its development. I did the buy PZ at its launch and waited for 2 years to have representation of where I live. I had this rally of dlcs for PZ1, I won't do it again.

I'm the opposite. I can't afford 250 dollars worth of content in one go so spreading it out through the years makes it possible for me to get the full game.

Easter next year is the 20th of April. So if Planet Coaster does not take that spot, I'd say we're looking at an April 15th release.
My assumption is that PlanCo would take that slot this year but you're right: If it's not PlanCo, then it would probably be Planet Zoo!

Part of it is probably dependent on what kind of DLC release schedule PlanCo winds up on this time around.

Haven't poested in a while in this thread, and what better way to comment with a dlc pack idea?😁
My idea for the pack is a biome pack, with animals from diferent biomes:
  • Short-beaked echidna (grassland)
  • Blackbuck (plains)
  • Howler monkey (forest)
  • Himalayan monal (ice)
  • Walrus (water)
  • Gerenuk (savanna)
  • Red-footed tortoise (jungle)

I’ll take your biome pack idea, and decide I want to do an all Ungulates biome pack. I’ll admit ungulate fatigue gets me down, but man, they are still beautiful animals.

  1. Blackbuck antelope have my vote for grasslands.
  2. For water I want to do the Peere David’s deer.
  3. For forest I’ll go with Reeves muntjac.
  4. For tropics I’ll go with the Gaur.
  5. For ice/ cold, it has to be the Musk Ox.
  6. For mountains I’ll go with the Barbary Sheep (Aoudad).
  7. Finally for plains I want to do the Elk/ Wapiti.
Give me this pack, then give me all the horns, antlers, hooves, and skeletons and I think it would be pretty cool.

I will also say, one of the reasons I still want ungulates (besides the species I favor) is because I hope Frontier would give me those horns/ antlers. They are almost impossible to make in game! They are also one of the coolest things about ungulates!

Where are my educational items Frontier!?!?!?

My dream pack at this point is an Americas pack.

1. American Flamingo
2. Black and Gold Howler
3. Elk
4. Linnaeus’ Two Toed Sloth (WTE)
5. Muskox
6. North American Black Bear
7. Pacific Walrus
8. White Nosed Coati

I honestly could not think of a better roster of animals. Maybe a Roseate Spoonbill instead of an American Flamingo, but we always need clones, and the AF is one of the better ones.

Biome pack, sure I can make that work

Grassland: I personally think the Southern Ground Hornbill works here the best

Mountain: ROCK HYRAX BABY, LETS GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Tundra: Walrus, I don't care, but I guess the Walrus is alright

Desert: it was between 3 animals but I went with the Roadrunner

Woodland: Reeves Muntjac, there just pretty cool

Jungle: Geoffrey's Spider Monkey, I mean duh of course a new world monkey

Aquatic: so many choices, but I will go with the Mandarin Duck

As much as I'm fatigued on ungulates as well, the idea has potential. I like your line up.

I'd go with :
Blackbuck
Elk
Muskox
Southern Pudu
Himalayan Tahr
Pere David's Deer
Masai Girafffe (even though it looks out of place compared to the rest, it's still an ungulate.)

Bird fans are wavering, frontier's goal of making the wait longer to accept ungulates is working.
I will say, modding has helped me a lot in that.

But don’t get it twisted, I will be livid if Frontier can’t throw me a bird in the next pack. I don’t even care if it’s somehow even more basic that a new flamingo species.

As much as ungulate fatigue gets me down in the dumps, they are still cool animals and I am a fan of hoofstock in zoos. I just get sick when Frontier decides to make ungulates a majority of animals added in 2-3 years. In the past two years we got something like 5 antelope species? With 4 of them being from Africa? Shoot, we got almost that same number in pigs alone. Luckily the pigs all had different continents an biomes for the most part.

I just know if Frontier cheaps out on us bird fans I’ll be mad for like, an hour. Then I’ll get over myself because this is a forum for a zoo game and it’s not worth ruining my day over. But for that hour I’ll be mad!
