DLC 19 Speculation

Yeah so when making a realistic biomes pack I would use the ones that have been used:
Grasslands -
Tropical -
Wetlands -
Arid -
Arctic -
Aquatic -

And then probably add Highlands or Temperate as most likely.
Fun format.

Grasslands - serval.
Tropical - squirrel monkey.
Wetlands - waterbuck.
Arid - barbary sheep.
Tundra - gentoo penguin.
Aquatic - sea otter.
Temperate - Reeve's muntjac.

Now that i'm building a zoo in a spanish colonial style i would say is possible to make a caribbean style zoo already for sure but we are missing a lot of small or detailed pieces. Like i use a lot of the classical and north african pieces but i look at reference pictures and it would be usefull to have a colonial / meditarranean scenery set to make it all.more cohesive and not having to use a million wood panels to make a stylish window. I don't thinks is a need like a modular / in grid mesh set is but it could add some nice stuff.
Oh, those would for sure be useful! But it still doesn't justify a full-blown scenery set the way Frontier structures things. Those would be good addition, but even if it were an Animal pack with the new format... How would you fill up the remaining 60+ pieces? I feel like it would feel like a pretty big stretch or hodge-podge. Haha.

This is all just making me wish there were scenery sets that would drop between bigger DLCs. A "detailing" scenery set would be so awesome for exactly the reasons you described!

They literally just outright removed all visable branches on steamdb. PC2 is doing so bad Frontier probably delayed it.
I’m curious to know how PC2 is truly doing, with the full picture of both pc and console players considered. At first I was hearing things aren’t looking great, but then I’ve seen things like this article that suggest otherwise. The lack of winter DLC does seem concerning though at the very least. Now, right after initial release, is the best time to drop one numbers-wise.

Honestly, if things aren’t going well, we can probably put aside much hope of a successful PZ sequel. And I mean successful both on addressing community wants and financially for Frontier. Which really stinks when you consider a lot of us PZ players have been patiently waiting around for animal “categories” that might now never show up because Frontier likely was leaving them for sequel material. But again, it doesn’t seem any of us have a truly full picture of PC2’s success or lack-there-of yet.

I will say though, that I’ve seen some modders talking about the way Frontier handled PC2’s code and it was largely set up with console development more in mind than pc, which imo, isn’t a great thing. There’s certain things that are doable in PZ that aren’t in PC2, from a modding perspective, all because the code is limited by console-based standards.

This. I've seen plenty of claims floating around, also here, but especially when it comes to console I never see any source backing up said claims.

Especially the whole "nobody plays it on console" claim feels hard to back up given the financial reports of the past years showing the sharp increase in revenue for Planet Coaster 1 when the console version was released.

Well PC2 just got a new DLC out of the blue. Only 3 flat rides and 2 coasters. No scenery pices or career scenario. I think Planet Zoo DLCs are much worthy.
Huh, there goes all that speculation. Honestly this reminds me of when Arctic first dropped, except arctic had scenery pieces.

Looked at it, ofcourse from the perspective of someone that doesnt enjoy themeparks alot, but wow what a scam
3 static rides and 2 New coaster cars for 10 bucks is a robbery, ofcourse our animals are also just a reason to build but i dont see how the static rides are even different from each other from a buiding perspective, but the biggest issue is obviously no pieces.
Thats like getting 3 exhibits and 2 animal Variants and no scenery but paying the same price as we do for dlc.
Idk but that just seems like a horrendous return to me

I’m gonna bet they threw something together just for the Holiday season to try to cash in on some sales. I will say if this is the upcoming quality for the next pack I don’t want it!

The PZ DLCs always struck me as having alot of content for a very reasonable price. Especially when compared to JWE which only had 4 animals and thats about it, given only for 8€. But if you compare that to 8 animals or 4 animals and 150ish scenery pieces for 10€, the PZ dlcs start looking like a real steal pretty quickly.
No clue how comparable a ride is to an animal in terms of "value", but to me looking at it feels like not really all that much?

Buggy game with deluxe coaster pack already, includes variety of water rides but forgot many key building themes. You know what this game needs? Even more rides of course. Looks like a winter period cash grab really, not any effort comparing to PC1 dlcs or jwe dlcs. With the lack of building focus, looks like frontier has put consoles first which is an awful decision for their next big game.

What I don't really understand is Frontier's strategy. They don't communicate about the pack, they don't send it to Youtbers and they launch a poor overpriced DLC when the base game is still in a very bad state. I'm reading a lot of negative reactions as I was expecting. This feels like Frontier knows they are acting bad so they are being quiet trying to fool some people to buy the DLC and get the money. I think Frontier is going in a very bad direction, and I'm starting to fear for the future of Planet Zoo (be it more DLCs or a sequel).

Yea PC2 is probably getting nothing for December. I think the launch and fixing the game is their main focus rn
Well… I was wrong. The reaction is so bad to it. It has the Mack Extreme Spinner so that’s awesome and coaster fans will appreciate the Spinner and the Vekoma Family Launched coaster, so it feels a little scummy to add such requested coasters in a pack like this making enthusiasts HAVE to buy it.

Tbf coasters do have a lot of value since there’s a lot of ways you can make them and make different ones of the same type in every park but the timing of this is so bad. I’m so much more thankful now for how PZ dlc worked out. I fear for the future If frontier doesn’t take care of their image with the fanbase
