Elite Dangerous | Cobra MK V Update - 12 December 2024

Hey there. We mentioned that transaction errors could still occur in some cases. Can you contribute towards the issue here to help our devs investigate.
Paul - I've only tried buying something from the bartender on my own FC so far and it's still returning the same error. I haven't checked but previously the transfer of "on foot" items from the FC to Ship wasn't working either. Sounds like the issue remains live.
 
So what did Paul say about Mandalay paintjobs? I want Chrome and Extraction pack for Mandalay and for Cobra mkV Chrome, Serpent Yellow, Pink Overdrive and Hazard kit and Powerplay bobbleheads that are portraits instead of logos and Survey pack for Type-7 to name a few.

Before the update today only my limpets were stuck in my FC, now after todays update the error increase in the number of commodities that are stuck.
I've shared this with dev but can I just double check whether you mean this only started happening from the downtime today (Friday 13th) or whether it happened from Yesterday's Cobra MK V update (Thursday 12th)?

My FC stuck limpets which were liberated by the Dec 5th patch are, as of today's 10:30 patch, getting stuck in my FC inventory once more :(

If you're looking for confirmation that limpets specifically are affected in between Thursday's outage and Friday's outage, then take a look at https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/69484, second comment down, "46 limpets stuck" and it has a proper screenshot attached too. 0245am last night / early this morning.

I experience this commodities bug first after the update on Thursday 28th November for then disappear some days later. It appeared again after today's patch.
My limpets got locked in my FC after the update 12 December 2024, nothing has changed after today's update.

Hope this could be some sort of helpful.

Hi Paul,

there are at least two different kinds of transaction errors for Odyssee materials, that occur when you try to transfer materials between comander and carrier:

the problem that was discribed above by herbie occurs, when you are at the bartender (on foot):

before I observed this sometimes, when two persons in different instances tried to buy the same item at the same time.
Since PP 2.0 this is a permanent problem.

The second error happens, when you try to transfer materials in the menue when sitting in your cockpit (right side menue in ship) . This worked last week (for items you had at least one in your ship), but no more since the Thursday update. I reported this in the Issue tracker - and I am not the only one)

Continuing issue transferring Commodities to/from Carrier and Ships that was introduced with 19.02. Not just the Bartender ones.

Oh fantastic! Fleet carrier inventory and storage is broken to the point of being completely useless and carrier bar transactions still don't work at all... but the Mandalay paint job is available on the store front. Talk about a shining example of where FDEV's priorities lay!!

You realise the people who work on the store almost certainly don't work on the core game, right?

Naturally... but they are all under the FDEV banner... all part of the same company. Having Paul crowing about the Mandalay paint job being available again while carrier trading is completely broken and FDEV being practically silent on the issue is not the kind of PR that any company would be desperate for.

If they don't get ARX, lay-offs could happen and fixing other bugs will be harder to fix with less people or even moot if ultimately the game is shut down. So I think their priority with bugs directly impacting revenue is correct, yes.

And it's not like the carrier issues are being ignored.

Yes we realise it, but the carrier-bar is a capital piece of the game. It's nice to combat the Titan, it's nice to combat for PowerPlay, nice to have new ships and paints. But in the moment we have a shooter-game. I know better shooter-games for fighting. That's not the intention of Elite Dangerous. It's sad that the convenience or must i say that the inner resignation of the players the result is. Easy way for frontier but nothing to generate new players or even keep new players.

On top of having the Bartender bug and odyssey mats transfer error bug, I now also have that bug that prevents me from moving commodities between ship and FC. I'm a returning player, and within a week I've encountered three game breaking bugs which are being ignored.
Bugs happen, fair enough, but the fact they're aware about this bug since early November, and they'd rather fix the paintjobs is very telling. I've also noticed that the prices in the cosmetics' shop have been doubled since when I last played in may.
I reckon I'll go finish Stalker 2 and if it ain't fixed by the time that's done, ill just find another game to play.

The "greyed out" commodities bug has only been happening since yesterday, whatever you "fixed" on the 12th was what broke it.
