Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

Just needs a clearer recording.
I'm no expert here, but I do believe that might be a command to deploy the zombie hordes.

Either that, or they are looking for Uber drivers.

Ah - wait, it's not 50M to go, is it.

The total has dropped to 1.4B, which has proportionally dropped progress so far to 950M because the CG is bound to the Titan's health, not to the actual total of contributions (which has therefore confused a whole bunch of tools like Inara's CG tracker which assume that CG progress can only go up...).
Inara’s CG tracker seems to be sometimes getting stale data (via its API, I guess) — a few mins ago contributions jumped suddenly to ≈1.35G then almost immediately after dropped back to 966.5M.

Well, I suppose the human figures can plausibly only refer to human reproduction.
Maybe a message home to the extent of
"We came looking for their hive queen. Turns out, they have no hive queen. Every pair of them can make more of themselves. Awaiting further instructions."

Also, from a slightly different assembly of the histogram slices ..

.. I think there's something in the top right that we haven't put together quite right?

Historically, these messages have always had "shadowing" or "reflections" in them... so possibly the other copies are just that?

What I find more interesting is the arrangement of the people in a pyramid, 2-4-8 (top row first).... taking a stab in the dark, they're all man/woman pairs too?

Wait wait wait.... I know what it is...

It's a goddamn christmas tree... Holiday event confirmed :p

No goids at Mars High and no Scythe on the way out.

Elite Dangerous posted on X that "Interdictions and AX conflicts have ceased in Sol", so that may be the cause. As for the spectrogram, there still is that strange tweet from Zac with the ground operations and landing ships when the Battle for Sol started. Maybe it simply means that the Titans now release their zombified alien ground forces on humanity? Phase 2 so to speak. While the humans (and mermaids) are rather static, they clearly are in focus, and the Thargoid swirls are what we've seen two years ago, so the viewer's perspective may be from the center of the bubble 🤷‍♂️

I would guess that's just because it's from Avengers: ENDGAME, and now that the interdictions and other things have stopped it allows a wider range of Commanders and sub-optimal builds to reliably make the journey to the Maelstrom.

Is that from today?

No, from Dec 5th, but still. Ok, the "Endgame" point is valid, but I still wonder why a landing operation of sorts was chosen if everything else is just about space battles more or less.

So... just gonna throw this one out there.

Why're we all assuming this is ill intended? Like... not saying it isn't[1]... but it's what it looks like everyone's drifted to straight away.

Like... it still doesn't make sense if destruction is their goal. They were doing a good job of it before... if Thargoids really are great strategists, then they know attacking Sol would be like kicking the proverbial hornets nest. If they're also intent on destruction, then firstly, through Seo, they know we're everywhere, and even the total destruction of Sol is a very small fraction of our total population... there's 6.6 trillion people out there... 18 billion, while a huge loss for morale, emotional and other reasons, is not a war-changer.

So maybe they're "zombie hording" as is another suggestion.... why? Thargoids have demonstrated their efficacy at destroying us... what's threat is a very small fraction of the population going to be? Even if they're mind-controlled... they're still just humans. Even what documented evidence there is suggests the Thargoids themselves are much more "combatative" entities than a human. And by striking Sol, since they know we're aware they're capturing people (because we've been rescuing them).... covert activity is out the window.

But let's just say the Thargoids faceplanted 8 titans into us, just in order to capture and modify some humans, knowing we'd recapture them and possibly reintroduce them into society, in order to "remote control" them as a threat against us.... that's an incredibly convoluted chain just to seek our destruction. It just doesn't add up.

Assuming whatever happens next relies on "people"... what's possible? It just feels like actively seeking our destruction isn't on their radar imo... if it is, it's presuming some major errors on the Thargoid part imo.

  • Apparently the Mycoid hit them really, really hard. Are they actually trying to colonise human space in order to rebuild, and by "using humans" they can assure safety, maybe from a bigger threat?
  • Given the icon... are they actually trying to say we've won? Or are they trying to hide behind us (humans in front of the Thargoid iconography)... or are they potentially using us as a vector to reproduce outside of the threat of the mycoid?
  • Are we simply a resource that's "really dangerous to harvest" to them... but they're only just realising we're a sentient species like them?

Something's just not adding up....

[1] At least, in human terms. Harvesting resources may well not be ill intended, unless we're the resource being harvested.

No, the part about ceasing interdictions and AXCZ? Those were still happening last night.
