Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

It almost reads plausibly as a recap - if the Titan spirals are heading inwards rather than outwards, it could read as "we sent 8 Titans to the centre of human population expansion"
I'm trying not to read too much into it, but I have the day off and it's fun. I definitely think the implied motion is outwards rather than inwards.

If I'm right and the chart is showing human generational reproduction, then a benign reading of it would be...
Maybe it's trying to illustrate Thargoid reproduction. That they grow by increasing in size, not by multiplication, and spread outwards

I'll just say that my malign interpretation is that this is going to be the signal that activates the Pod People, the 'Children of the Thargoids'.
EDIT: No, with the swirly lines indicating travel/journey those are Titans, so more specifically, 'Children of the Titans'.

If it’s meant to represent reproduction, that could have another meaning. But the “preservation” theory is one that seems less plausible even though I’ve been keeping it in the back of my head for a while.

I guess we know what else this most recent Thursday maintenance added, however. I would not have figured to go to a debris field, or have gone poking into one… (no real reason to)
Amusingly, since I took the huff at the Titan HP raising I've been picking the bones of Taranis for the last couple of days trying out different builds, and had noticed the noises there. I was expecting that there might be a change in the noise after Cocijo was destroyed. I'm just not one of the chaps that thinks to visually process these things!

The obvious thing from a Cannon Science stand point would be to check that the noises at all Titans actually match, and we don't have 7 different clues to be looking at.

Also, from a slightly different assembly of the histogram slices ..

.. I think there's something in the top right that we haven't put together quite right?

My thoughts are somewhere in between:
  • There are more patterns present than a simple target indicator; each row doubles in the number of units.
  • Each unit is a man and a woman, in that order, and gets repeated in that order.
  • Looking especially at the eight-row, each individual person is placed along a wider arc as opposed to maintaining the same picture of a couple.
Exactly to what it refers is not clear, but as @Mr Lindsay says, that has to be more than targeting:
  • The Human family as the unit of Human society.
  • Ancestry; a family tree.
It seems to indicate Thargoid attempts to understand Humans—although they have far to go before deducing that examining Humans by abducting them is considered hostile!

A second set behind the first?

That looks like a simple shadow of the top-center portion of the picture rather than anything distinct; observe how the spiral arm matches up.

Oh great, FDev just reduced the Titan’s total HP to 1.4 billion.

(There goes my chance to watch the final Titan’s explosion live, I guess. :()

(Edit 12:45 UTC: Or maybe not… 6th heart is still half alive…)

(Edit 20:20 UTC: should be fine, although the hour may be a bit inconvenient.)

Ah - wait, it's not 50M to go, is it.

The total has dropped to 1.4B, which has proportionally dropped progress so far to 950M because the CG is bound to the Titan's health, not to the actual total of contributions (which has therefore confused a whole bunch of tools like Inara's CG tracker which assume that CG progress can only go up...). So that's 450M to go rather than the previous 650M.

Previous days have been 200-300M so that would give an estimated destruction on Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning

I assume the idea is to make sure that it finishes in time for the explosion to be before the server reset.

Does that affect individual contributions?
It hopefully won't beyond the odd situation that the total individual CG contributions will be about 300M higher than the global total.

But as this is the first time that Frontier have run a CG where the total progress has been driven by something other than "the sum of individual contributions" in the first place, really it could do anything.
