DLC 19 Speculation

Most of the members of this forum??? As I said, some people are always so arrogant. How many people are there in this forum? How many people are there in the zoochat forum? Have you done an accurate statistics? You are so confident to say this conclusion?
100+ active members for zc, this one probably a dozen.

Yes it's an interesting discussion, let's not make it a hostile one.

One positive is that because the giant panda is also used for politics is that they won't let it go extinct ( I would assume). The status of the giant panda going from endangered to vunerable is also a positive sign on actual progress. If owning the species by one country and the policies around it are morally good is at least questionable. I don't have a definite answer on that so that's why this discussion is very interesting.

Yea I agree even though morally there’s some shady stuff behind it, it’s undeniable Pandas are at a better place now than before. (Now only if the public found pangolins and rhinos as cute….)

Regarding the post by Zoochat, there are 19 speakers in total. Where do the 100+ you mentioned come from? The dozen or so here...are these the majority? Well, if this is your understanding of "mathematics", all discussions are meaningless. Good luck.

Honestly, I hope people can pay more attention to the Sumatran rhino and Javan rhino. It is not impossible for these two rhinos to become extinct this century. But pandas are animals that really hit the aesthetic bull's eye of human beings. This is really a bit unsolvable. An interesting meme is that in the eyes of many Chinese zoo lovers, zoo animals can be divided into two types, one is pandas, and the other is other animals. Even living in China, we are often shocked by the popularity of pandas! But this is really an objective fact, the popularity of pandas is really unparalleled.

Yea the situation with Rhinos is the most pressing of all megafauna in my opinion and it’s sad it goes so unnoticed.
Atleast Javan rhinos are all in protected land. The situation with Sumatran Rhinos is way more depressing and pressing

Regarding the Sumatran rhinos, I remembered that maybe a long time ago, some scientists tried to keep some individuals in captivity together for breeding, but unfortunately... they lacked understanding of these rhinos and thought that they were the same as the two types of rhinos in Africa. Can eat grass... The results were disastrous, and by the time anyone realized that this animal seemed to feed on leaves as a staple food, it was already too late.

Yea Cincinnati Zoo had success with them. Now they’re trying to build the breeding stocks in Indonesia to mixed results to say the least
