10 Years of Elite Dangerous

Hey folks,

If you didn't receive the email on your playtime it likely means one of the following:
1) You are not subscribed to the Elite Dangerous newsletter/Mailing List
2) You haven't played enough to generate a lot of data (Unlikely for the forums I know)
3) Your inbox wouldn't accept the email (i.e. Spam filters, inbox full, sticking post it notes on your monitor doesn't count as email)

Unfortunately if you did not receive an email and haven't received new emails after sorting any issues with your inbox settings, then we are unable to resend them.
I have never unsubscribed from the newsletter. The last newsletter I received was #364 on the 14/10/2023. There was silence after that, and so far I haven't received one about my 10 year summary.

My preferences are set to receive them.

I started playing this game on the 1st of June 2014, I have sunk thousands of hours into the game and hundreds of pounds beyond the hundred I spent backing the project in Kickstarter. Everything I've done is set up correctly and I have never changed my setting or unsubscribed from the newsletter at any point.

I will be incredibly disappointed if I don't get my summary.

Interesting, just checked and I seem to be subscribed across the board. My last news letter was also 364 though. Yet I have hundreds of other Frontier forum emails.

That's not acceptable. You were able to generate the stats per player, which means you are still able to generate the stats per player. Given that, it is logical to conclude it's an automated process. This shrugging your shoulders and saying "tough luck" is not professional or acceptable.
 
Have you checked your email preferences?
Could be that you're subscribed on the mailing list but not on your account; I think that's what happened to me. I had to check the "news and updates" option this morning, despite receiving the generic email yesterday.
But that's the forums mail settings. I don't think this applies here - there are separate newsletter settings in your store account settings. Unfortunately these look like this (at least for me):

The last one I received was for the Type 8 Update, no Newsletter after that one. Just checked, I‘m still subscribed to everything. Oh well, a bit disappointing, but I‘ll live.

Hmm, interesting. That's particularly odd because the only emails I get from the Frontier Store are confirmations when I buy ARX, and they don't have an "update preferences" link. I never really understood why the Frontier account management was so split up around the different services.

That's the same issue I have. I cannot 'Update preferences' since I have not had any emails from Frontier Development with any such links even going back several years. But unless FD change their minds it would be moot anyway. We will not get our 10 year summary now regardless if we could change our preferences?
 
If you click on Update Preferences in the last newsletter you received, you'll see a list of all Frontier (and Foundry) games. EXCEPT Elite. 🤷‍♂️
It‘s a bit odd how it’s structured. I‘ve clicked on it in 3 different mails (one Elite, one from the PC2 announcement and one on a bit of everything) and got 3 entirely different lists of preference updates.
For example the Frontier newsletter wouldn’t allow me to change any Planet games preferences, even though PC2 was featured in it, as well. Couldn‘t find any place where I could manage all of them in one place…

None of this is true in my case, although I haven't received the newsletter in a long time so I guess whatever is stopping that is relevant. Does it contain anything interesting that's not in the games codex stats? Love me some stats :)

You (FDev) certainly could resend an email from a mass mailer to a custom list of those asking for it to be resent.
 
That email seems like such a cool, overwhelmingly positive, idea. And I get the surprise factor adds a little cherry on top.

But there are all sorts of reasons that people would miss out if you only send it out to those who are subscribed to newsletters (this isn't a newsletter either, it's personalised stats). Surely there was a better, more inclusive way, of doing this?
