Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

And which supports the notion that CIG is not just incompetent but that there is perhaps a very strong element of proactive and deliberate intent to misrepresent in order to hype up for money.

Occam´s or Hanlon´s razor would work if those "mistakes" had just been occasional, one-offs here or there in an otherwise reasonable delivery track record. But constant misrepresentation over 10+ years, and hype producing over 750+ millions, suggests these are just not simple mistakes.
The longer this fiasco drags on, the worse it looks as far as the intent of Roberts et al.

More of a tech WTH one this one...

Ship QTs an extra hop on its own towards a planet. The pilot then has zero control. The ship falls to the surface but doesn't boom. Most of the crew see the ship as still in orbit.

Pilot regains some inputs but can only glide across the surface. Then they can fly. Then they get kicked from the chair, and boom for real happens.

So what the hell was that? Authority drop for a while perhaps? (On entering planetary server).

Authority drop, massive input delays, server delays, you name it. Or simply put CIG´s server meshing and replication layer is just poorly designed and badly broken.

But it has NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!

To be accurate, it HAS been done before, better, more efficiently and in WAAAAAAYYYYY less time, but it has never been done this incompetently on this enormous of a budget before!

Debating whether this was intentional or not.. got a chuckle from me nonetheless.. :)

Pledge harder Citizens! Nearly there!

Looks like Pyro 'preview' for that sweet $250 ship sale almost has them there. People love to buy ships even when the game is a mess, no wonder they keep doing it.

* yeah yeah, I know, inflation, companies expect growth, yada yada.

How did they get a record number of $ in December 2024? That's more than they ever raised in a past December. More than double compared to 2020-2023.

We have no clue about the source of that pledge money. It could be a big investor like the Calders. Something is fishy about these stats.

The SC MMO is a mess, lots of missing and half-baked features, very buggy, unstable servers. Big layoffs at CIG.

The official SC website still says Funding Goals:
  • Star Citizen will launch with 100 star systems. (19/11/2012 for $6 mil)
If 1.0 does not include 100 star systems or any launch milestone then CIG will get sued by backers.
