I just sold a bunch of data from 1K-2K out from the bubble and got plenty of reports. I don't think there's a range limit here.

But guys, if you're thinking about zooming in from Beacon Point with a bazillion discoveries, be aware that the max prize is 25 mil plus the pre-engineered DSS.

Also, the prize money seems to be... uh... out of order?

Do I have to fully FSS a system then map the bodies for it to count as a report, or can I just map HMCs only?

Also, does it make a difference if the HMCs are terraformable?

I just tested it and it worked to a T:

I used Spansh to search systems with +50 bodies that are further than 20 Ly from CG system. Then FSSed the first 3 systems in that search, and then mapped a single HMC in one of them.

64+53+50+54+1 = 222.

These were all systems I had never been before. Not sure if that's got anything to do. 🤷‍♂️

Throw us a bone here, FDev. The reward is utterly disappointing. At least give the top 50% contributors a cool lil unique decal, paint job, or dash bobble to light a fire under our keisters. Something to say "I was there". I have many ships already fitted with the pre-engineered DSS. One more won't hurt, but give something to motivate the community to contribute more than just the bare minimum.

There does seem to be a bonus for DSS scans - not sure if it is for a full system mapping or the scan itself. I went into a system with a bunch of icy bodies and both did the FSS as well as surface scans on them all - 7 planetary bodies total, no gas giants or other worlds - and received 21 contributions for it.

Is it worth the extra time? Dunno, but it goes with the claim of the CG text that being thorough does indeed get valued more.

I also don't think this will run even close to the full two weeks given, but I think that's fine here. Or they could just have raised the goal already and I hadn't noticed.

There's some real gems out there, prime real estate opportunities for commanders valuing peace and quiet of their own. Sure, it's a little bit of work, but imagine a pristine nightsky of no other stellar bodies for at least 150 lightyears! Untouched darkness, and completely free of Thargoids, dragons and other space monsters!* (Thargoids, dragons, other space monsters and space madness inducing empty darkness remain responsibility of the holder of the planetary settlement and responsible party in charge of colonisation of the system)

Eh. T1 is normally enough for CGs to count as "successful", as the rule in the past (the Cocijo destruction might have been different if we didn't know Frontier were always going to assure it was destroyed within the week). No need to go pulling any sad faces.

They also upped this one from a 1 million final goal to 10 million just this morning. Probably so it wouldn't be over early on Sunday or something.
