Any already discovered system will do. This isn't a CG to go find new unexplored worlds in deep space, but rather one to get up to date mapping data n whatnot on systems closer to the Bubble (or within it, I guess).Does the data have to come from undiscovered systems or already discovered and mapped ones will do?
Apparently not...Do they pay more than the expected values for UC data?
I fully mapped a previously discovered and mapped system last night and it counted for 42 reports - 14 bodies x 3 it seems. Also had an extra bonus mapping the complete system.Does the data have to come from undiscovered systems or already discovered and mapped ones will do?
Probably because the only tiers displayed are 100 to 25%, nothing higher.Looking at Inara for this CG, it is interesting that nobody has managed to get into the Top 10 or even the Top 10% yet.
That's because there is no Top 10 or Top 10%!Looking at Inara for this CG, it is interesting that nobody has managed to get into the Top 10 or even the Top 10% yet.
I think exploration CGs are like that. Everyone dives off into the black and comes back on the last day to hand in.As of this posting time, not looking good![]()
In seriousness, what do you gain from doing this kind of CG in open? Is it the thrill of there being the danger of being ganked, thus you losing all your exploration data?To solo I went, thx for muh immurshon.
I won't be ganked, and if, I'd deserve it. I like the thrill, yes. And I only had the explo data from the 6 jumps there onboard, to hand in some data. So the loss would've been negligible. In seriousness, what do you gain from doing this kind of CG in open? Also, why are you using a large ship for an exploration data CG? Just use a Mandalay or Phantom, or even a DBX. The small pads are aplenty.
Ohhhhh I never thought to approach this CG from the tin foil hat angle! Let's gooooo!New Asp Explorer buindle states "uncover the hidden" and the same day a major corp Community Goal wants people to actually, properly, map everything around the core systems... sounds near identical to the work done by tons of CMDRs over the years to find Raxxla.
A the same time:
There is a CMDR group who is 3D mapping the 200ly radius of Sol who has been doing this same thing for a while now. They have most of it done.
I know I may seem like a nut but something about all it feels wildly coincidential... and it also feels like a nudge from FDev to get people to stop half-assing the system scans in the region... lol
Excited to see what "Hidden" things people may finally discover in this region and excited to contribute to the goal here.
Ah, glad to see that's real - was it a big bonus? Also had an extra bonus mapping the complete system.
It is an exploration CG why bother with a large ship. Why oh why does FD still do the same clunky decisions regarding gameplay?
A single L pad megaship for a CG again?
We have those sweet multi-L-pad models in game called Fleet Carriers, why do I have to switch to solo to hand stuff in?
There is still no queuing in game, and single L pad megaships for CGs are stoooooopid.
I was in open, it was a nice instance with 6 L vessels around the Trailblazer, but sorry, I don't spam my "request docking" button to be the first
and I can't be arxed to organize a queue again. These times are obsolete since the attack on the Oracle
To solo I went, thx for muh immurshon.
It triples the CG value.Ah, glad to see that's real - was it a big bonus?
The CG text says, "Contributions will be valued by thoroughness, with full FSS scans & planetary probing completions rewarded higher."Just a Q - as far as I gather, only the NUMBER of contributions count, right? So the number of FSS'ed bodies, not their data value? So, mapping them adds nothing to CG goal? Or being first discoveries?
Crap, missed that. TNX!The CG text says, "Contributions will be valued by thoroughness, with full FSS scans & planetary probing completions rewarded higher."
