Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

They updated the About page again.

Franz and Chin are gone. (As predicted by Bored's source on the latter).

And Tony Z finally got his title updated 😁

So he's not a Game Director anymore, "having retired but allowed to retain their title as an honour" but still on the payroll.
The community will be super excited to know their hard earn money is well spent!

Seriously though, if he is really out I would imagine he is not on payroll.

No idea what the intent is for the emeritus reference. Perhaps he is on some kind of unpaid retainer in case CIG wants to call him back?

Don't worry Benoit Beausejour will be on the Marketing stream today to explain why all of this is good. Why the previous work is mostly trash and he will do it right this time. (never done before!)

What is funny i was having a chin wag with one of the long time faithful over on youtube in a video's comments where i brought up the rumour about Tony Z working on a fantasy RPG called Soulsinger. Of course they countered that its probably some new magical tech for SC, but they basically poopoo'd me saying its just made up, a rumour, and even insinuated that i started the rumour.

I agreed it was a rumour, but that Tony has been quite absent from CIG's videos now for a while, but he was adamant Tony was still in charge of SC's development and following the "vision" that he laid down.

Anyway, was funny to see his updated title, so i've wrote back to the faithful to let them know about this. Be interesting to see their response, assuming they just don't go silent.

The labor law required consultation processes we have in many European countries when there are layoffs are usually very stressful and hard to go through. I have gone through a few myself. But at least they are strictly limited in time. The tend to last 2-3 months and then (for the most part) that is it.

What we are seeing at CIG on the other hand is just plain awful all the way through. Constant lay offs at all levels since, at least 2023. Must be a nightmare for those guys.

The question is though: Why keep him on the c-suite page if so?

I reckon this is their way of admitting he's no-longer on the PU, while suggesting they're keeping him in-house for his 'valuable knowledge' 😁
