I'm sorry, but you guys trying to explain 'things' and 'effects' of either players or FDev interventions in the last 2 (or 30) pages (29-30) is total
If players did it - fine - shows that players can respond to BGS, if FDev did it - fine - it goes with their desired narrative.
That's 30 minutes of my life I will not get back - ever.

Well, Brewer definitely got bang for their buck out of that extension, even if it took Frontier to nudge them out of being stingy with their hundreds of billions of money to deploy proper security in Lockdown.

I finally got a chance to turn in data. My 9 pages @ Universal Cartographics turned into 1,300 contributions and ~350 MCr and put me in the top 25%.

Well, if you want it so badly, you can go buy as many as you want from tech brokers - they've been available for years

You will get the rewards only if CG succeeds, which is not always guaranteed, so it makes sense that you need to wait for it to finish.
Also, it would kind of undermine the idea of a community goal I think. If you want to use CG to get a reward with as little effort as possible that's ok, but you need to accept the rules then.

Seeing multiple people saying the CG is looking to have already closed. Haven't had a chance to get in and test it myself. This was happening at least 4 hours before CG was supposed to be over.

That's nothing to do with buckets, and instead related to either diminishing returns of that activity specifically for balance reasons (e.g goemons trading analysis), or an interpretation that is conflating the "1t trading effect"... that is, number of transactions gets more representation than the scale of the transaction.

Edit: "nothing to do with buckets" is somewhat flippant... but what i mean is, it's nothing to do with the concept of separate activity based buckets.

I don't think that's an accurate description.

Because I can move the security bar, for example, far more than I can move influence USING security. While the two may stem from the same source, the differences in performance make them so different in practice as to be more confusing than helpful to try to consider them the same thing.

This feels like more of a semantic issue than a practical one. In practice, my statement that it's easier to move influence with 4 buckets rather than with 4x the effort in 1 is still true, no matter how you say it.

Thought I'd do a bit of exploring before the CG ends, and was pleased to get first mapped on several bodies less than 60Ly from the CG system

I found a system not even 25 ly from the bubble, with multiple planets not mapped.

3 minutes remain .... Inara proved to be very good source of decent scanning candidates. 91% for max Tier, nice work with that long lockdown.

Good effort everyone.
Lockdown threw a few cmdrs off-track.
I'd done 3 exploration trips (W, S and East from HIP) and handed 3979 reports in before lockdown hit. Then a few days doing BH (and earned a few quid), then did a North final explo run when lockdown lifted and when I handed in at T-minus 10 mins earlier I ended up on 4988 reports in total so safely stayed in top 25%. I've no gripes about the lockdown - made a change from run-of-the-mill CG.
Did it all in my v5 motion rig (+VR) so had a lot of fun.

Well, it seems over.

CG no longer available in Missions, greyed out. It hasn't reached 100% yet. Tier 6 not complete as yet. Top level is shown as 25%.

So ... where is the scanner? Also, for me the CG is still active (not greyed out). And yes, I have relogged a few times now / closed the game / relaunched it.

cash and scanner will appear in due course.
25% is the highest achievement level for this CG.
