What are your fun, unusual, or underappreciated weapon loadouts?

Everyone knows the standard lasers/MCs loadouts. Everyone knows the all hardpoints doubleshot frags loadout.

But what loadouts are you rocking that you enjoy that are either fun/memey, unusual, or underappreciated?

Here are some of mine:

Inertial Impact Bursts

A lot of people are turned off from adding inertia impact to bursts due to the jitter, and indeed, the jitter is crazy. You're not hitting anything more than a few hundred meters away... which is why engineering for short range combines so nicely with them. 4 of these on a FAS works quite well, since the FAS is agile and fast enough to keep all but the smallest ships in its sights. Small ships can be tricky though due to the jitter. Bigger ships though absolutely melt under fire from these. Great for long sessions bounty hunting, since you never have to worry about ammo.

Turreted Cannons

You ever look at the Anaconda and thought "This looks like a space galleon"? Well, I did. And what do galleons carry? Cannons! But its not the most agile ship, so why not slap a ton of turreted cannons on it? One huge beam laser to handle shields, large and medium hardpoints are turreted cannons (long range), and smalls are for a turreted pulse with scramble and a turreted MC with corrosive. No, this is not a very effective build, its a fun one though. Just watching those cannons pump away is fun. Some men like the lasers, and some men like to hear to hear the cannonball roarin', me, I like sleepin', 'specially in my Molly's chamber... ooops, sorry, went all Metallica for a moment. Yes, they miss a lot, especially small ships, but keep the PP targeted and enough will hit to either take out the PP or the hull. Anyway, love the build.

Turreted Frags

I can almost imagine the look of horror on some peoples' faces right now, so let me add to that horror by saying i have them fitted on my Python Mk2. And it really works well. Engineered for high capacity. Just get close, pull the trigger, and basically wait for them to die. All you have to do is remain close (sub 500m), the turrets do the rest.

Cytos

Yes, i know, any Archon supporter already knows just how effective these can be and i'm sure plenty of others have discovered them. But i'm sure many people don't understand just how good they are because they are small, fixed, and don't damage hull - they see that and think, meh. Got 3 of these on my Chieftan and they simply melt shields. They are so good they almost are as good at taking down shields as my all-beam laser Corvette. That's crazy! Ok, the Corvette beams are easier, longer range, etc. With Cytos you need to be close, very close, but if you can manage that, they rock.

Shard Cannons for non-AX builds.

Their thermal damage is roughly equivalent to a typical meta frag of the same class, around G3-4 modded... and while their kinetic damage isn't amazing by any measure, if you pair it with a good armour stripping layout including corrosive shot, it's actually a great supplement as the non- primary damage source, knocking 2% of hull per shot from a typical assassination mission corvette/ conda, and has a bigger clip size (5 vs 3). Best bit is it's just at the cost of credits after the initial unlock... instead of a bunch of engineering.

As a personal preference... seeing fall of shot is important to me, and where i can't see trash with frags, Shard Cannons are easy to see. And ofc they sound awesome.

I've not tried this build with the modded shards before, usually because my builds are quite hot... but unsure if it's better or worse (prob worse, given the use case for modded shards)

Yes, especially that ultra long range Salvation Shard „Sniper“. Sometimes I use it in my PVE-Corvette in the class 3 hardpoint or in the Kraits‘s central class 3.

„Multi Mc Gunface“, a Multirole Anaconda with lots of different weapons. For example, here with PA and a Cannon. Not only funny with all those projectiles and lasers flying all over the place, but highly effective 🙂

You've got a bit of a theme going with identical weapons in all slots on some ships. Got the same myself on a few ships. The all Rails i've tried before myself, just never can seem to get the hang of the damn things.

I can fix that..

Yes, I like the simplicity. My other builds are more ho-hum mainstream.
As for Rails, they do take lots of practice and are Kb/M exclusively.

I fly HOTAS too but have the Kb/M set up to shoot as well. Not saying it's impossible but while I can hit 9 out 10 rail shots with mouse, it's only 2 out of 10 with HOTAS, even with curves set. PA's are easier. Maybe my old Logitech is just getting cheesy. I would love to try it with awesomer gear like VKB or Virpil. Maybe someday..

8500 m Sniper Shard! Damage Output is the same, I think.
 
My multi coloured fireworks flak launchers.
I have them on some non combat ships and I like to use them to scare off pirates or gankers.

It's never been effective, however 🤔

Oh, i've got them on my iCourier. I use it as a fast running courier ship so the weapons there are just for show.

What HOTAS do you have? I don't think my Thrustmaster can cut it. I'm ok with fixed weapons, but that delayed firing really does need precision.

Modified Shard Cannon Focused Long Range Penetrator 3000 Meter „Mod Shard“ - available in Mbooni

Missiles, missiles and more missiles.
Packhounds for lulz and dumbfires for ground missions.
The AX stuff is fun too.
Mining lances don't really count, though fun when I'm feeling lazy.
Shock mines on my fat Type-9 - don't follow me.
 
Currently in my hanger I have:

Anaconda with 5 medium LR plasma slug rails, huge corrosive multicannon and small emissive and scramble spectrum pulse lasers.

One of my FdLs with quad pack hounds with a huge efficient beam.

Another FdL with quad modified plasma charger and huge corrosive multicannon.

It is not mentioned in the Wiki.

I can a post a screenshot later. As I remember it was only distributed in one of the Salvation CGs in the Summer 2022.
