Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

A couple of years ago I discovered an area of the galaxy that had a lot of Black Holes, and I tagged quite a few of them. I also bookmarked the area for a possible future return.

I realized today that I'm not too far from that area, so I've decided that now is the time to revisit it, tag some more Black Holes, and enjoy the scenery and whatnot.

So I now have an actual direction to go.

Here's an old screenshot from a planet in that area, from back when my DBX was my main little exploration vehicle.

Hi :)

I put 'em on once, just to see what they look like, and then I shove them to the back of the closet. Worst cosmetics ever, really. I bought a few things that were less ridiculous, just so I didn't have to be all white plastic looking in my screenies :)

Yeah, I have to agree on the free suit cosmetics upgrades, they are a bit...🤔...'underwhelming'. I only check the upgrade colours out if I get the message that my exo bio rank has gone up.
I would have thought that the colours would be better if they enhanced the basic Artemis suit better in some ways, to my way of thinking they clash more than enhance the look of the suit 🤷‍♂️
I play 99% of the time in solo, so nobody else gets to see my pilots suit anyway! :D...just as a matter of interest though (question to anybody really), what are the suit options / colours if you get all the suit cosmetics up to the Elite status?...are there any pictures etc that show the full Elite rank Artemis suit anywhere I wonder?

Jack :)

I'm not entirely sure, because I didn't care enough to figure it all out. I think I have them all, but I stopped looking at them a while ago.

I found this image of the green set, though, just as an example of how they look. There's a red one, too, I believe. You don't get to choose the color, though, it's just part of the rank award.

These two pics are the closest I have for a full body shot of my Artemis suit with the green armor set. Not entirely sure if it is the complete set, but at least most of it.

The sequence is green-blue-red, body-arms&legs-helmet for each, rank by rank up to Elite where one gets the red helmet - for a total of 8.45 billion exobio data banked at Vista.

Here’s a full table of Exobiology ranks / credits / livery:

That means that I now have the choice between green and blue...

They can actually be useful for disguising oneself, for example here this aspirant Exobiologist is fairly well hidden amongst the Red Rhenibus... so the choice of suit might be worth considering - a green suit, while suitable for stealthing Fonticulua, might stand out a bit around here ;)

Aha!...thanks for the link (y)...it's all a bit easier to understand now.
(I've saved the link for future reference. ;)).

Time to back up those binds. Probably not necessary these days but...

And I'll probably leave off playing tomorrow completely as you know what they say about patch day.

Not sure if I read it anywhere but I was wondering, if you colonise a system, do you get to name it? If it just gets called by the CMDR name ( if any tagging actually occurs), I can see there being some weird sounding systems...

I am currently expecting to switch to the hauling side of the CG when the servers settle down and help gain more colonisation support megaships for the next week. This should let things calm down a touch possibly allow some bugs to be adjusted and maybe depending how fast some of the eager beavers are let me start from 10Ly further out.
I am mainly focusing on the hauling part right now.

That would cause some problems down the road, as you are not limited to colonize one system.
TimberMcWolf2 doesn't sound very compelling to me as a system name...
Either they keep the original name (which is my guess) or they give us the chance to name them (which is what I'd love to see - though knowing the, erm, curious nature of humans, this could have some repercussions...)

If the same filtering rules applied to fleet carriers were used for star system names, it would make navigation difficult - plotting a route to ********** instead of ********** would be a nightmare.
