Elite Dangerous | Trailblazers OUT NOW!

Quick question. I went to one of my discoveries, around 300 ly from the bubble, I'd like to claim it but it's too far from an inhabited system with a Col. Admin. currently. Do we know often the Admins. get updated and the range extended? I did try an asteroid base 150 ly away but no admin.

I don't believe they need "protecting" in the first place, any more than they need protecting from the possibility that other players might choose to do a bunch of missions for them and get them into a conventional BGS expansion.

Since 2018, all systems have been independent of each other, so being present in an extra system largely only creates extra maintenance work for the player group if they choose to adopt the faction's presence in that system too. Just ignoring it is an option.

If they really don't want to be there, they have the option to set up and lose a control conflict in the new system, and then either set up a Retreat (these aren't going to be high-traffic systems out on the fringes of the bubble), or just ignore it from there on the grounds that they'll probably retreat eventually through random movements if they don't control a station.

Or they can just take it as one more system on their list that they didn't even have to work for and no-one else can claim "but we were there first" on either, and keep it.

Do we know if the factions that enter colonized systems upon creation are counted as "native" factions?

Because native factions can't retreat.

It might be worth reading through this page. It will give you all the information you need. It's a 15ly range currently.

Неужели нельзя было предсказать и предвидеть? Я имею в виду возросшую нагрузку из-за введения колонизации? Действительно - внезапно и непредсказуемо)

Google Translate: Was it really impossible to predict and foresee? I mean the increased workload due to the introduction of colonization? Indeed - suddenly and unpredictably)

in my opinion one expansion per minor faction is something completely different than more than10 colonization's at the same time.
FDev could have and should have foreseen this.
Frontier buried certain minor factions under a Thargoid invasion for two years, in such a way that there was absolutely nothing they could do to oppose it. Powerplay changed the incentives for the balance of passing traffic bubble-wide. The previous CG resulted in a PMF losing control of one of their systems against a tidal wave of CG participants.

Frontier is highly unlikely to care for a second which minor factions exist in and control which systems, or consider that player group A has any more right than player group B or individual C to determine (using their equal access to the game mechanics) which ones it is.

I very much doubt they think there's a problem to solve here.

The thing to look out would be other players/group thinking they own "your" faction now because they colonized a system with it and running amok with it.
Well, and again, if other players can move "your" faction around more effectively than you can, it's not really "yours" any more.

Do we know if the factions that enter colonized systems upon creation are counted as "native" factions?
They won't be - it seems to be drawing in existing factions from nearby systems.

current range is 10 (15?) ly from the respective admin system. No extension as of yet announced - so even if your asteroid base got an admin, it'll still be too far away.

Current range is 25 Ly - they said this on the Frontier unlocked last night.

Not about balance, but I am not sure if it is mistake.
If you claim a system and return the claim before 24hts, systems stays blocked. One CMDR see "system is uanavailabe", other see "claimed system".

apparently carriers are having issues with jumps at the moment. not tried myself yet. happy where i am
Yeah, carriers are just slow right now, but last night i couldnt move at all, but today i managed to shift one to my colony, and one to supply me with materials for my first station, hopefully servers get up again soon so i can jump it and offload my stuff
