I'll be back tomorrow. Maybe they'll fix this crap.
I'm getting the same now. The game has been fine for me all week, now just errors over and over. Suspect everyone is on claiming their systems (or trying to).

I wonder why FDEV does not take into account the increased load on the servers when they restart colonization.
Recent experience was not enough for understanding?
Same experience here...

I think they suffer from a "it can't possibly happen again" mentality. I personally do not like the idea of colonization being in the player's hands for this very reason, and a host of others. They should have just used the community goal system to expand the bubble.

But don't worry... I'm sure Vanguards will be totally functional at release and not result in the game being rendered unplayable... again.

Im pretty sure they said they would be live testing the load and monitoring etc etc. I think we should be patient and let them work things out. I bet there are thousands of players trying to log in over and over and over again which likely isnt helping.

Hoping someone from Fdev is watching this thread. There seems to be a problem with the servers atm. for the past hour I, along with several other commanders have been Dc's from the servers, receiving connection error messages before we are all sent to the login screen. Is someone there aware of this issue? No word for the past hour from the team and no announcements as of yet. I hope someone sees this and responds or make a PSA about the issue.

Since i am currently handling some json data from edsm and spansh, extracting necessary infos for potential colonisation systems (there are some systems with 60 ! landable bodies) i've got some insight into the amount of data the servers must handle.

we had 20k populated systems before with around 35k stations holding potentially 10-20M commodity entries. outfitting ? probably also a few million entries.
now we've got 10k new systems? they of course do not have that much stations and buildings as already established systems - but the populated system count doubled!

then you need to handle the increased fleet carrier movements and transactions. all market and station transactions as well have increased.

i don't know how often the servers "tick" and have to calculate some stats, but having +50% more systems for sure is keeping them busy.

that does not mean that fdev couldn't have anticipated that. they would have just needed to look at player spikes when other new features where introduced and approximated how many players would create systems to know how much more server power they need.

maybe they have a fixed cluster system for the servers that can't be extended so easily. so server XY34 handles the XYZ ly cube with a size 50^3ly and when that server is overloaded all players on there get connection errors. almost certainly something like this. maybe it is not that easy to just "add" a second server to that cluster, if it is programmed that only that one server handles all database transactions in that region then that would suck.

Take a shot for every Mauve Adder

I played in solo and it worked.. until I went idle. I think its the server load of cmdrs trying to claim systems.
I was able to claim a new one. Like stated earlier the servers may need a reboot.

I'm pretty sure some one is online working on something. I noticed the system I was trying to snag looks like all of it's spots were removed. although it doesn't have the red X which would of made more sense >_>

They need to yank colonization off the live servers and properly test it on a beta server before they reintroduce this broken hot garbage of an update back to the live servers.

Are there lots of players who love this update? Sure there are. But there are also thousands of players who couldn't care less about it and want the game to be playable without all of these interruptions, because of a broken beta system that should have never been implemented on the live servers in the first place!

There's still an issue where you place an space installation only for it to be placed somewhere else in the system instead the spot you chose. The worst part is you're unable to undo the placement.
