I think the American Black Bear is a strong candidate for an anniversary animal if there will be one. I kind of feel like they are working on a bunch of similar animals at once. Like have you noticed how we have gotten so many pigs during a short period of time? Then same thing is happening now with goats/sheeps. And of course we have gotten 2 bears not that long after one another. So I do think we might get the American Black bear one way or another.

Bobcat would be the worst for me personally. I understand americans who want to build their home zoos with it, but from an european point of view... ah gawd. Same with another Armadillo, to be quite honest.
I dould live with a Black Bear, but if we ever get another bear, I still want a Eurasian Brown Bear. The grizzly model is dated and not a good replacement, same for the Himalayan Brown Bear.

That would mean getting only American animals for almost a whole year until Christmas pack, unless they release a summer pack. I prefer when the anniversary animal is something that couldn't have been included in a recent DLC, some wild card. So something for the other continents.
Also, I'm trying to understand why they decided to put the Spectacled Bear in the Zookeeper Pack if they knew an American pack was coming next. Did they save the spot for the ABB this time and didn't want to put 2 bears in the same pack or is there just nothing to read here?
Could be, could also be like Iben said they didn't know the next pack yet. Anyway it's not like we're oversaturated with South-American species so I don't mind having one in the last DLC and a few more now.

While it could work it would cause almost universal outrage because squirrel monkeys climb very differently to capuchins and people already hate the sifaka becasue it doesnt climb properly.

So I am going to rate animals that could be in the last 2, from least to most wanted
Guanaco/Vicuna: I might want these less than the Wilk Yak, and that's saying a lot since I hate the Wild Yak (Domestic Yak is better in every way). We already have the llama and alpaca, WE DO NOT NEED MORE CAMELIDS
Bobcat: I like the bobcat, but with the coyote here, it is unnecessary and annoying; there are better choices.
White-Tailed Deer: Meh, it would be nice if the bighorn sheep weren't there, but while it's useful, it's not necessary
American Black Bear: as much as I want it, I know it's not meant to be, DARN YOU COYOTE, this is revenge for not getting Coyote vs Acme, isn't it
SA Tapir: similar to American Black Bear and White-Tailed Deer
Turkey: pretty cool, and 3 birds would be sick, especially with a monkey as well
Squirrel Monkey: It's the best option for a clone, but there are better picks
A New World Reptile (Red-Footed Tortise, Argtine Black and White Tegu, etc): I would love to get a reptile alongside the 2 birds and Saki, especially a tegu or river turtle
Patagoin Mara: goes perfectly with the rhea
Coati: An obvious pick, and one I would love
Prehensile-Tailed Porcupine: It would be so cool to have, and it's just way too cute
Roadrunner/Burrowing Owl: Me like bird, and we got the coyote so the roadrunner would also make a nice duo.

I think the new world term has a lot of debate on if it includes Oceania or not especially for a biological setting so I think Americas pack is more likely
I sure do hope that Frontier's plans go beyond the 6 months after the release of a DLC. I mean we certainly are nearing the end of the game, at least I think so. I'm pretty sure dev teams have a well defined plan of what's ahead of us.
I'd be shocked if the development teams weren't aware of the new content they had to develop once they'd be done with a DLC. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't work in this field. I work in a research lab where projects are well defined for years so...
