I've heard before that deer just arent common zoo animals in the US, a shame for you guys we have quite a lot here and I always enjoy seeing them. Especially when I was at Berlin there was a great variety between both zoos.

I always found the backyard/roadkill argument funny, I think out of the three species I have seen as roadkill the most in the UK - two are in game - European Badger and Red Fox... (and I quite like that we have them in game) The unlucky loser being the European Hedgehog which would be cool but also is probably borderline whether it would work as a habitat species.

Im gonna visit tierpark berlin this week, they have like 12 species i think. Some uber rare ones aswell, but rare hoofstock is also kinda that zoos specialty.

-Altai maral
-Barbary deer
-Barashinga
-Bawean deer
-Burmese brow-antlered deer
-Common hog deer
-Indian sambar
-Jarvan rusa
-Pere davids deer
-Vietnamese sika deer
-Thorolds deer

Like thats an absurd amount of deer species for one zoo, definetly a must visit for every deer nut out there haha :D

Edit: Nvm, the list actually goes on, as i only checked for true deer. So add the following ontop of that:
-Eurasian moose
-Forest reindeer
-Tufted deer
-Musk deer

While im personally not really dying for more i can agree that there objectively should be more than we have now.
I think 2-3 could bring them up to a good spot. One for NA like the elk and reeves muntjac together with a more classical deer for asia would round them up pretty nicely. I think id go with the sambar due to their huge range and to vary the deer up with a tropical species

I think i would pick:
  • Pudu
  • Muntjac
  • Elk

I would love a fourth deer from Asia. There are a lot of asian species that i would like. Pérez David deer being the most unique i Guess but an indian deer like chital would be amazing as well.

I hope the next pack revisits India.

I think with 2 major zoos in one city and an standalone aquarium ontop of that, berlin is for sure worth a little trip. Especially since leipzig the arguably best zoo in the country isnt far from there either, so you can do a little detour there too

So, an Indian Pack huh? Would definitely good, but I can't think about 7 species spontaneous. Ofc, Nilgai, Blackbuck, Axisdeer, Langur and Honey Badger, but more, I don't know.
But I like the idea, especially since we have a Indian building set, but not that much Indian species

Edit: I forgot about the Gaur and lion tailed Macaque- Okay, this would be 7 animals, that would all be very nice an their own, but all in one pack, I guess the variety of animals would not be big enough.
