For solo players, it's recommended to start first with an outpost.
I was this >< close to doing that, but because the game seemed happy for me to start with a Coriolis, even though that seemed to be at odds with the Tier system, my curiosity got the better of me. Or should that be the 'beta' of me, heheh.
Aye but Jack says it's
four times as much (ie 400%) which is quite a different problem.
@Jack Schitt what kind of Station was this specifically?
Basic Coriolis, no trusses.
Idiotically I forgot to enable video capture before starting all of this so the only accurate numbers I have are for after I deployed the construction ship. But from memory, the largest commodity requirements I recall seeing on the "pick a Port" screen were for Steel and CMM Composite, and they were both in the region of 6000-6500. I remember thinking that was just about doable solo, 8-9 runs per commodity with a maxed out T9.
But now the the build is active the requirements are a whopping 20363 for Steel and 13768 for CMM Composite. Assuming my largest starting figure of 6500 for each that puts them at 313% and 212% of my original quotes respectively. (And 145% and 122% of the values from the table at the start of this thread, which sort of fits with a starting station premium of 35% if it's an average).
Unless I radically misinterpreted that original station selection screen, which is always a possibility, it almost looks as though the game may have still been showing me the requirements for an Outpost when I switched to the page for the Coriolis. I guess that's the thing that underpins this all: with no Tier 2 or Tier 3 Construction Points, should I ever have been able to select a Tier 2 Coriolis as my starting station? Because if that's a bug, all of the other issues may flow from that.
