It’s funny, those patch notes today read like the patch notes for a 4X game like Stellaris. It’s all population growth, economic changes, colony links/types/growth lol

not even mad about it tbh. Elite Dangerous could become an entire planetary economy strategy game for all I care. better than just flying around looking at/shooting stuff
 
A 40% bonus on dropping settlement data before the tick from 50ly away makes everything even worse and can't defended since you can't collect reinforcement data without destroying your standings in your home system
Not really.

If they're undermining at 1.4 and you're reinforcing at 1.0 you fall behind by 0.4 each time.
If they're undermining at 1.05 and you're reinforcing at 0.65 you still fall behind by 0.4 each time too.

The difference is that the total pace of systems changing hands (especially in the 99% of not meaningfully contested systems) is quicker in the first scenario, as is personal rank accumulation.
 
And online. My Coriolis poopstation has a functional economy and market, many more ships and outfitting, yet still no UC or VG, at Tech Level 46 and High Tech economy. Oh well, guess I won't be buying a paintjob for it just yet.

But thats the issue, as we are not talking about the general population nor about anything thats out of someones control. You do more, you get more capable NPCs in return (which are themselves worth more). Its only targetting those who engage the most leaving the norms at the 'base' level.

Those who are casuals won't face the same as someone at #1.
Sure, i get it. In fact interactions with NPCs are already scaled to some extent, so I would expect the same with PP NPCs.
