I think it looks sweet. There's a lot to guess about and I'm not sure that the underbelly hatch is an SLF bay. It's a WIP but the details look a bit wrong, along with the proportions (but then so does the cargo hatch to be fair). Also, when I looked at the back, it looked like a closed ramp, so I'm curiously wondering if the back is a ramp entrance and the underbelly is also a loading lift/ramp?
Cargo-wise, I like the 2048 number a lot, 1024 not so much, 1536 and above acceptable. I think if it is 'just' a non-rank locked Cutter equivalent it would be somewhat disappointing for me personally, but I can understand how that might appeal to those who are Empire averse or haven't done the rank unlock requirements yet.
As far as handling/speed specs go, I think it should at least eliminate one out of three trips in a Cutter/Type-9 when loading/unloading a carrier and/or doing a surface port shopping trip, and the time it takes to leave masslock and dock etc.. is a large factor in that. Ie; it would be pointless if it can carry 1.5x the cargo of a Type-9 but takes 2x longer to make the trip there and back. It's one of the reasons why I stuck with the Type-9 - while the Cutter can haul a bit more and is a bit faster to and from the pad, the chances of overshooting and taking more time to get alignment right made it moot as the extra amount wasn't enough to cut a trip out and frankly the Type-9 handling was just better suited to the job and less fussy.
It having a couple of huge hardpoints would be ideal too, along with a beefy hull. This ship should one-shot small-medium pirates and hold up to sustained fire to a decent degree. The original description, IIRC, suggested that small pirate ships were like buzzing flies to it. It also mentioned that it could wipe out the stock of smaller stations too, so that should point to ~2,000t of cargo space as already mentioned.
There's something about the new ships that go beyond the newer styling, it's almost as if they are being designed in a way that accommodates future plans for ship interiors much better than the older ships do...
