My guess is July, same time as Vangards/Squadies

depends what you consider release. if it's not earnable in game the. it isn't released imo and looking at the direction of travel I am gonna guess near the end of the year, optimistically November but I would not be surprised if it was a Christmas release

This. With luck we'll get the Corsair released with Vanguards. Which happens to a great Powerplay multipurpose ship, but didn't come with Powerplay. It's IMO also the best AX ship, and we barely got the Python MK II on the last stage of the war. Panther, the Colonization ship ? End of the year, when already the third feature for this year is scheduled and Colonization is old news.

The Canther Plipper won't change the colonisation flaw: that it is pure hauling. Maybe your haulage volume doubles or even quadruples per flight (additionally, we don't know the limitations of the ship, yet) but in the end, you will be hauling and nothing else.

You don't have to do it alone.

Wish there were a way to figure out source systems, establish trade routes and kindle imports with subventions to have some (or all) materials delivered over time. Would add a level of empire building gameplay to the space trucker experience. Would also promote building up colonies before moving on to avoid that your daisy chain goes beyond the supply distance (or just turns expensive to support and protect).

Well, Vanguards is coming, and I wouldn't be surprised if several Squadrons are created with the explicit goal of helping its members to colonize systems. "We help you, you help us in the future."

I do not colonise (at least not for the time being). One reason because I am more the independent explorer and adventurer type and a colonised system does not provide any value to my play style, second because of its boring game mechanics. No matter if I colonise alone or with friends: it isn't my cup of on Any Na coffee.

I'm getting excited for it, i'm in the hurry up and wait mode.

As far as colonization I feel the same way as jinx and a i'm sure a bunch of other players. I think it sounds fun to explore, find a system that looks fun, plan it and work your plan, only for the fun to grind to a halt starring down a list of 100's of thousands of tons of snooze back and forth. And I'm a trader by nature, i've done tons of it, and I know how it can become monotonous.

It seems I have to once again remind people not to post information that is gained by datamining and hacking game files. I's madness that even needs to be said on the official forum for a company.
This also isn't the place to perform character assassinations of people.

If cargo capacity < 1,000 then the ship is dead on arrival.
If cargo capacity > 1,000 and < 1,200 then it's not worth buying ARX for.
If cargo capacity > 1,200 and < 1,400 then 50/50 on ARX purchase.
If cargo capacity > 1,400 then show me the ARX page.
It's all speculation however "The ship is known for its massive size and capability to carry significant cargo loads." Key words "massive size" and "Significant cargo loads"

Size we know by now is limited to the entry slot on stations, and I'm sure FDEV is not going to add and new pad for this ship so it has to fit the largest landing pad in the game.

You know, there's a really important point here that I think many players are losing sight of – and I think the way Colonisation is pushing unhealthy, grindy gameplay on some players is behind it.

New ships should never be worth ARX. Spend real money on a ship only if you want to show appreciation and support for Frontier's work, not because your real money is 'worth' the advantages a ship gives you in game. If we tell Frontier that new ships have to be especially powerful, have to have a 50% or higher numerical benefit over the current best ship in order to be worth our money, they might just listen – and we'll regret that when we see what it turns the game into.
