and here I thought I remembered I was part of discussions where people complained the Corsair was too slow. Now it is too fast?
I think it is inevitable that old designs get surpassed, and possibly retired by new ships. This was also part of all the discussions when people posted "need new ships" threads every week. With what, 38 ships already in the game before we got the new ones, there was really only a couple of ways this could go:
- new ships are worse than the old ones - riot, accusing Frontier of wasting time and money
- new ships basically the same in a different form factor - riot because Frontier lazy and incompetent
- new ships better than the old ones - riot, because muh old ships are now worse than the new ones
In my opinion, when you constantly call for new content (ships in this case), power creep of some shape or form is inevitable. There's still enough reasons to fly the old ships, even if those reasons are just "because I can" and "it looks cool". If efficiency and performance is all you care about.... well, sell your Mamba, it's deprecated. Wait, not really, it still flies fast in a straight line and sports a huge hardpoint. So there's that.
