Which in-game species have you seen IRL?

My local zoo has had American flamingos for quite a while in an outdoor pool (which will become part of the bear complex to be completed next year) but has now just opened an outdoor walkthrough aviary that mixes them with greater flamingos and other waterfowl. The greater flamingo will be a first when I visit next week.
I’ll be visiting Philadelphia Zoo for the first time in about three weeks so I’ve been following this exhibit. That’s such a nice contrast in color between the two species. I wonder if there’s any measures in place to ensure they don’t hybridize?

I guess the only safe way to prevent hybridizing is removing the eggs.

How many animals from the new pack have I seen IRL?

Better than Americas at least haha, thank god for the blackbuck

Of the eight new species, I have seen the blackbuck, ratel, Pere David's deer and lion-tailed macaque. Seen the very similar mainland raccoon dog and common rose butterfly, never seen the nilgai or the Borneo elephant.

I've seen the grand total of zero.

Btw out of all species in the pack only the blackbuck (which is basically everywhere now) exist in Brazilian zoos, so i only expect to rise the number by one.

I have seen every animal from the new pack except the Japanese raccoon dog (only raccoon dogs without any specific subspecies status). I count the Bornean pygmay elephant as well because there were some in zoos I've visited (Hannover and Pairi Daiza) and I'm pretty sure I have noticed them, they really are significantly smaller.

Goose egg, though that should change whenever I'm able to revisit the Bronx Zoo (only did once when I was a toddler and I don't think my family went on the Asia monorail). Otherwise none of these species have a significant presence in North American accredited zoos.

Really? The three ungulates at least are quite common in larger European zoos.
Still, zootierliste lists 47 holdings for the blackbuck in the US, 54 for the nilgai and 27 for the deer with quite a few large zoos (e.g. Bronx).

Definitely seen the blackbuck and Nilgai, not sure of the lion-tailed macaque and the deer, just like the tanooki. Definitely not the Borneon elephant and Ratel.

Honey badger, lion-tailed macaque, blackbuck, nilgai, and Pere David's deer are all a yes (although all three non-antelopes have only been at a single zoo each). Haven't seen this subspecies of elephant (only Portland has them in the US), but sticking with my intention of treating this thread at the species level, it's a nonfactor regardless. And, somewhat ironically, I haven't seen the Japanese raccoon dog - they may as well be nonexistent outside of Japan. I have, however, seen the mainland species at two different zoos (one of which doesn't have them anymore, and the other being the only US zoo that still does). I suppose if Frontier lists it as a subspecies in-game I'll include it in my "seen" category, but if they're listing it as a distinct species, then that'll be a no... until I finally visit Japan next spring let's gooooooo

I live in the United States. The blackbuck and nilgai are quite common in unaccredited zoos (especially drive-thru safari parks) but nearly absent in the AZA. The deer has a bit more of a presence.

That's interesting. I wonder why? Come to think of it, I haven't seen either of those
