Does anyone else think exploration should pay more? Like for finding ELW, etc. Compared to finding new footfall exobiology payouts. These rare exploration payouts seem like peanuts. Would add more excitement to the find, I think. They could add the lore that, due to colonisation, payouts have increased.
I think the payouts are fine, and make sense. The amount of payout depends on whether you are the first to discover and map the planet, and whether you have DSS-scanned it, and whether you scanned it efficiently.
Here are payouts for an (efficient) DSS scan of some planet types in credits (not first discovery / first discovery):
Ammonia World: 598k / 1725k
Earth-like World: 1126k / 3250k
Water World, not terraformable: 416k / 1200k
Water World, terraformable: 1200k / 3230k
High Metal Content Planet, terraformable: 683k / 1971k
Rocky Body, terraformable: 540k / 1557k
For comparison, consider that for example the Cobra Mk V costs 1989k credits. A first-time scan of an ELW or terraformable WW gives you more than enough reward to buy a brand new top-of-the-line spaceship.
