Planet Zoo | Asia Animal Pack | Announcement

Same could be said about the American Flamingo
It's literally not? The problem w the Elephant is that we already have two- in a zoo u typically see just one species of Elephant, and main of the time It's the African Bush Elephant or the Asian Elephant, and we have already those in the game- we have in the game just one flamingo, and the American flamingo is super common in zoos unlike the Borneo Elephant which idk about u but I never saw it irl. I don't mind having two options of an Animal but there is no need for 3, mainly when the third one is pretty useless as it's barely in captivity. And the American Flamingo looks different and u can clearly see the improvement between the Greater to the American.

I guess you can't play planet zoo unless all you want in your zoo is birds and monkeys, or the obscure small animals that nobody cares about.
That’s what zoos are though. Well yes they should have traditional megafauna but zoos are meant to spread awareness and show add conservation value to the little guy. Birds are very diverse and same could be said about primates. Our bird roster is mainly ratites (I understand why) and not as diverse as it should be. Little to no color, same can be said for primates. Mainly apes, with some macaques. As for the small animals, they are everywhere in zoos, they fill up sections unlike 2 different elephant subspecies. Notice how many zoos are starting to get rid of the traditional megafauna in favor of the more niche animal.

I’d rather get another zebra or giraffe than the black bear.
I take another Giraffe or Zebra with pleasure. But the American Black Bear feels Essential to me as it IS the only missing Bear species until now. And in my personal opinion it would be kind of a shame to not fullfill the Bear Family at the end. Hopefully we will receive IT with its huge amount of different color morphs If WE should get it one time.

I feel as if it’s overlooked by the forum members. It’s our last bear, and could add so much to the game. I doubt we will see its addition though.

I just remembered I didn't shared my thoughts about the new animals:

Blackbuck: the essential antelope from India, a common animal in zoos and very often requested by the community. 10/10

Bornean elephant:
I've usually tolerated the less popular animals of previous DLCs, like the proboscis monkey, the coyote or the saiga. However, this time I really think this is the worst choice made by Frontier after the Himalayan brown bear. I support "clones" like the American black bear, the American flamingo, a cold biome otter, the Nile crocodile, etc because they bring diversity in terms of biomes or continents. However, the Bornean elephant doesn't add anything that wasn't offered by the Indian elephant. My only hope is that they fix the Indian elephant zoopedia map (Sri Lanka should be removed from the Indian elephant map). 2/10

Honey badger:
if this animal had come long ago I would have been upset, but since it comes after having already gotten the European badger and wolverine, I'm ok with its inclusion. It's a popular choice among the community and seems to offer a big range both geographically and in terms of biomes. 8/10

Lion-tailed macaque
: more monkeys is good and this one looks cool. Maybe a grey langur would have been more useful, but this one looks more unique. 10/10
Pere David's deer:
it's conservation history alone justifies that this animal is added to the game. I wanted this one and a muntjac, so from now on my deer efforts can focus on the little one. And this is another good time to repeat my claim for getting antlers as building pieces. 9/10

Nilgai:
I didn't need this one, but I understand why it's popular and I'm glad we are getting it too along with the blackbuck (and not instead of). 8/10
Tanuki
: I know it's kind of an icon, but it wasn't in my wishlist. The model looks phenomenal and it lives in cold biomes, which is good since I like building in cold maps. 8/10

Malabar rose butterfly
: a free animal is always good. Of course, I prefer a cobra, chameleon or gecko, but a new butterfly is ok and it took me by surprise. 8/10

I don’t even like black bears that much

Looking at the two, one looks like it's from Zoo Tycoon 3, the other looks, surprisingly, really good.

Guess which description matches which
Besides the obvious coloration, I can't really see any difference... also, trying to sell a bad choice of animal with "look at the pretty model" is a bit silly when the same thing can be said for a lot of animals...

I don’t even like black bears that much, but they are my most wanted animal for PZ because they are everywhere in North America.

Model has some improvements, specially in the feet and trunk, but My good if they original indian elephant isn't 100% more interesting looking and has a way better skin pattern. And these comparison shows how good the base game elephants are and how we didn't need a new elephant.

I wasn't trying to promote it, I was trying to bring put the Bornean Pygmy Elephant down
They both look good. IMO I really like Indian more just for the color and the babies being fluffy. Truly one of the great base game models.
While I don't think the new elephant looks great I can definitely understand your view point, but like you said the babu and color make me favor the Indian Elephant

I know, the feet and trunk do look better with the new one, actually the legs do to, but my god the Indian Elephant looks so much better

I vastly prefer the Indian to the new one, the new one just looks bland.
