But we have 210 animals now and A LOT of them need a remake. I don't see it happening. Plus like people have said, outside of flying birds they would need big names to sell DLCs. People will care about getting one macaw, one toucan, one eagle, etc. ONCE then they would want animals that are more popular, cute, recognizable (look how much the wider audience loved the borenean elephant despite being a completly unnecesary clone that adds literally nothing new to the game)... and all the big ones are already in game, so i think we have to expect a bunch of those to come back in DLCs with improved versions. The ones i mentioned i think are the better candidates for it (there are more of course).I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect older animals to be back and remastered in the base game free of dlc charge. Games have done it before I don’t think it’s some impossible thing to expect quality

Still loads of potential with coatis, black bears, primates, tree-kangaroos, and walruses (among others).Plus like people have said, outside of flying birds they would need big names to sell DLCs.
Idk I think there are plenty of marketable animals left that aren’t in the game but to each their own. Personally I’d like 3 terrestrials 2 aquatics 2 birds or something like that per pack. So they would need less terrestrial “ABC” animals with that model anywaysBut we have 210 animals now and A LOT of them need a remake. I don't see it happening. Weren't some even relegated to pre-order bonuses or am I mistaken on that front? And the repackaged vintage rides pack in PC2 as a deluxe bonus

The modular building system comes from PZ1 there's almost no new work there. Breeding is also reused from PZ1. The only actual work seems to be in the new behaviour and models, but that comes with a cut of dozens of species. And you're supposed to pay 50 euros for this? How is that considered an upgrade?Different dinosaur behaviour, breeding, modular building etc. seems like a direct upgrade in the experience to me. Most of those will come with additional animation work.
At the end of the day it is a very personal thing whether one feels treated respectfully as a paying customer or not, but at least so far I personally am okay with what I see. That could very well change (it did for PC2) once we are closer to release and if and when the game feels unfinished. So far I give Frontier the benefit of the doubt and trust them that they learned and expect a game that is worth its money and additional money for DLCs.
If they eff this up though, I am all on board on doubting them as a company going forward.
I really don't imagine making a game like copy pasting some strings of codes like an excel list. (Hey @Iben would you be willing to give a bit perpective here on how easy / not easy things are based on your coding expirience?)The modular building system comes from PZ1 there's almost no new work there. In the most respectful way possible, how hard or not hard something is isn’t a concern for the consumer. It’s part of the job, if Frontier wants to make money they have to keep the consumers happy and paying for their product. Other companies and games have had way more dramatic leaps from game to game in less the time. If burnout is a concern they should be hiring more people. I know Frontier isn’t in the best place for that but that is somewhere they put themselves in. It’s not the consumers fault or job to make up for the Company’s wrong choices. The consumers are allowed to say what they want from their product that they pay their hard earned money for, if the company doesn’t want to deliver said product then the consumer is free to move on or make it known in this case where there aren’t alternatives that quite fit the products quality as of yet. But man that will drain on the consumer and the moment a new product arises that gives the consumer what they want they will move on. Like City skylines 1 and sim city, or Planet Coaster and the Roller Coaster Tycoon franchise or Planet Zoo to the Zoo Tycoon franchise. Let’s not let Frontier forget how they got to the position they did in the first place, and how easily someone who does listen to the consumer can come and take that spot if they’re not careful.I really don't imagine making a game like copy pasting some strings of codes like an excel list. And the new building themes also need to be made, the new water feature, new voice actors need to be paied, there is a percentage of the income being paid to universal because JWE3 is NOT an own IP game etc. This is not a Planet game.
Ignoring how, as Swjos mentioned, they probably can't implement massive features like breeding and modular building just by copying the code over from Planet Zoo and calling it a day, the breeding system in JWE3 is pretty different from the one in PZ. In PZ the animals just decide to mate and then a certain time later their baby/babies magically materialise into existence, but JWE3 seems to have a more in-depth system where each species requires a nest being placed down, and then also have further needs that dictate whether or not they will breed successfully (examples have been given where some dinosaurs want nests that can't be seen by guests, or colonial nesting sites where lots of nests are grouped together). The nests seem to act somewhat like the hatcheries that have been in JWE since the first game, with the eggs incubating and the juveniles then being released with a unique animation.Breeding is also reused from PZ1

You didn’t directly of course I’m not going to sit here and lie about that. It’s just anytime anyone on this forum wants or expects more from the norm we’ve been given with Frontier CMS sequels it has been met with, “that’s a lot of work it’s too unrealistic be grateful for what you have”. The whole point of the forums and consumer feedback is to say we want and expect more from our products. How else are they going to know that if we don’t say that. It’s disheartening to get shut down when the things being asked for aren’t super unreasonable and have been a thing in gaming sequels for years, we’re just now in an age of capitalistic greed and micro purchases to increase share holder value and the fan bases are letting it be so by giving the devs constant excuses. Again I understand directly you have not said that we can’t share our opinions, but everytime we do these excuses come up that quite frankly just don’t add up when compared to other quality products of the pastTime and workforce = money.
How do you think more people get paid?
This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the choices they made previously. They are financially managing a new game and running a business.
Where did I say you can't decide as a consumer you can't voice concerns? Where did I say you can't choose to not buy / support a product because it does not meet your expectations?
Quote me on that because this is getting ridicolous. Your reply has absolutely zero to do with what I said.
Then maybe next time you talk about something completely unrelated to what I am saying don't quote me and start with "In the most respectful way possible, how hard or not hard something is isn’t a concern for the consumer."You didn’t directly of course I’m not going to sit here and lie about that. Not all dinosaurs will have dimorphism though, the video you linked show that lokiceratops will not have many differences for example. Plus some creatures in the jurassic franchise don't have much going on anyway, Carnotaurus and baryonix have both genders show on screen and they didn't have any dimorphism either. Then you've got all the extra model, skin and animation work that has come with the introduction of breeding to the game. Breeding requires there to be both male and female animals, but the previous games only had females, so they've had to go back and add sexual dimorphism to every species and species variant in the game
I've sat on this for quite a while now, and I really didn't want to get into it because I know the reaction of a bunch of people already ahead of time so I didn't bother with it; but here it goes.*maybe a little bit of it is pent up frustration for the current landscape and I personally apologize for that aspect of it, but I stand behind defending the consumer over the company
As I said they will mostly be just skin and model edits for most of them, not like making an entirely new species (or juveniles), but it's still a workload to consider. Lokiceratops in particular does have notable dimorphism though, such as in the brow horns (shorter and downcurved horns in the female, with males having longer upturned horns with light banding), frill projections (slightly longer in the male) and patterning (more vivid and extensive in the males, though it'll differ depending on the skins you chose of course). Not all dinosaurs will have dimorphism though, the video you linked show that lokiceratops will not have many differences for example.
