Ships Corsair Build for PP / Regular Combat Zones (CZ) and Haz Res / CNB

Which is actually good. In my Mamba I almost always overshoot when boosting.
I mean, almost no increase in turn rate when boosting (FA on or off don't matter). The straight line speed and insensitivity to mass is great. It's just that Fdev didn't exaggerate when they said on the livestream that it's "very much on rails"🙃

Having done a lot of combat using many different weapon loadouts, the Corsair does great in PP CZs (hardest npcs), and has one of the better ships for Thargoids as well. The raw stats doesn't mean everything. Get used to it and you can do very well.
Why get used to it? Just use a special ship for this and everything will be much easier.
In normal zones I always use Corvette, in AX zones Cutter.

I'm no longer using the Vette in CZ. It's the undisputed king in bounty hunting, but in a CZ any of the medium heavy fighters like FdL, Mamba, Python MK II and now Corsair are much much better for the job.

Sorry, it's hard for me to understand the word better. My Corvette closes any zone faster and safely for me!

Play what you enjoy, not just min maxed? Try something new? Expand your horizons? :D
<sarcasm> Why? Corvette and Cutter are the big combat ships, therefore they must be better </sarcasm>
I engineer my modules and ships to make it easier for me to play. And I'm not going to strip my ships to make it harder for me to play.
I use to clear high CZs in a Vulture faster than my PvP Squad members could in a corvette.
In the current CZ I'm using a Cobra Mk V to deadly effect. Cryptos go through shields like a hot knife through butter and the multis make the PP go boom before the hull drops less than 60%. CQB combat, hugging their tail, dog fighting.

"Fun" is very subjective. For me fun is seeing the fear in the pilots eyes a split second before their ship is turned into dust. The corvette, again for me, is the opposite of fun and easy...but for others it may suit their playstyle or PC setup.
The vulture and cobra Mk V have pretty good defences as well...plenty to escape a CZ Cmdr wing encounter.
I love small ships me.

I should probably take my Mandalay into a CZ, Cytos and Concord Cannons. But I just feel comfy with my trusty beam/multicannon/cascade rail medium ships.

I'm still working towards my Concords...these flippin CZs keep getting in the way of my progress.
I bet that Mandalay would do a very good job in a CZ! You know you want to dust off the cobwebs and take it for a spin :D
Was thinking last night I should build a Mandalay combat/PP ship for giggles to see how it handles.

Do it! Short range, oversized Concord cannons are amazing module and hull killers. I find that one small corrosive multicannon plus one small feedback cascade railgun for cancelling SCB-s gel really well with concords, but cytoscramblers are certainly a valid option, too.

My Concords are short range high yield shell, basically turning the entire interior of my target into jelly.

If you're kind of used to CZs and know what you're doing, any kind of combat capable build will do. Recently I've had a lot of fun withmy powerplay builds of the Mandalay, Corsair and Cobra V builds in a local war zone. Both can be made very tanky, with the Corsair having the advantage of not being slowed down by whatever additional mass you attach to it.

Also taking the opportunity to bow to @Elpapo for turning me to an all-Concord Corsair built. That's REALLY funny to play with. Personally I use the bland overcharged/oversized variant.

oh yeah, probably a good idea to link a build. This is my armed multipurpose powerplay mission runner Corsair. It's easily capable to solo low and medium CZs, and high's work too if I concentrate a bit more :D

Edit: Before you ask: The B booster is in there because I had it in storage. No other reason.

Hmm. Are you sure this is a high-speed ship?
I always thought that for a high-speed ship (the ability to escape from fire) and battles in zones (not just one pirate) you need to take a bi shield.

How does the type of shield correlate with the speed? The unique point of the Corsair is that is fast, no matter what. Unless you downgrade the thrusters, you will almost always reach the speed cap, no matter how much mass you pile on.

The Corsair is always a high-speed ship, even if it doesn't really feel that way.
