"Don't miss our never done before new mini-game: Whack an Argo Mole*. Easy to find: only requires any of our fidelicious sync bugs to get started!

* CIG absolves itself if any bought store item is permanently lost during the fun."

Out of morbid curiosity, how does the backspacing PvP exploit work exactly?
Backspace is the suicide fast-travel key.
Instead of facing the pirates boarding your ship you wake up in a bed with all your equipment on your body that the invaders can't loot off the inert shell you left behind.

Backspace in SC is the suicide key. So people just suicide rather than be killed. IIRC, they eject first, then suicide... im speculating here, and because they didn't die in their ship, the game thinks the ship is fine its just a personal death, so the ship despawns and is available for use again quickly, as opposed to the longer time and rebuy cost (or whatever it is) if their ship was destroyed.

Regardless, it denies the attacker their jollies and makes them very upset.

Sir, this is a Persistent Universe.
The ship (wreck) remains and they need to wait out the claim time. If they activated the ship's self-destruct, too, the pirates can only loot a part of the cargo (if they don't get caught by the explosion  ).

A loop of shame, of sorts...

Not to mention that the large hauling missions are all on surface outposts...whose freight elevators frequently break.
Also the fact that you need to raise the lift twice just to fill up on the missions..

Surface cities are too tedious, Distribution Centres don't distribute anything, and surface locations still have broken freight elevators...

(PS that top commenter is usually an incorrigible white knight;))

Surface cities at least have weapons-locked armistice zones. All other locations would be open to blockades and attacks....

... that are just going to move to the source outposts.

Edit: I see now that the new CG mission need cargo delivered to the orbital stations with no weapon-lock zone. Blockading the cargo haulers is still on!
