Not sure my nerves could take CQC and have never used solo like to meet the odd real person and even those who are not oddCQC?

BGS, PowerPlay, System Colonisation? The PClipper would be good for that last one, lots of hauling depending on what you build...

I was one of the first to get my hands on the BBC micro when it first came out and Elite was one of my first games. Played it often and achieved elite so cant claim to be the first to get elite but must have been among the early ones
only ecologist but may go back to it after I have developed a system to try what it is like. Have filled my fleet carrier so part way to building a coriolis staion when I find a good system which is my next task

I have a 34" ultra wide monitor and use Track IR which works pretty well for me. I've been using Thrustmaster sticks since the early 90s. Had the Cougar(?) hotas for years. Got the Warthog hotas right when it came out in 2010 IIRC. My throttle quadrant is finally wearing out after approx. 15 years of abuse. If I buy a new Warthog throttle it might just outlast me.

I'm still only 38 so I feel like a fetus by comparison. It's funny to think that I did not even exist yet when the first Elite came out. I started playing Elite Dangerous in 2022 and I'm currently only missing Combat rank for the classic "Triple Elite". I'm currently ranked at Deadly. Maybe I'll make it to Combat Elite before turning 40?

Now that we have colonization, Book 6 is more useful than ever.
If you ever get the opportunity to try VR, do it. It's very transformational for the game - you go from playing a spaceship game in 2D to the closest most of us will ever come to actually flying one.
